CollectorsEdition.org Limited Edition T-Shirts

I’m going to be producing a one time run of CollectorsEdition.org t-shirts. These will come sealed with a numbered certificate. I will only be producing 50 of these shirts however we may increase that up to 100 depending on demand between now and April 20th. If you would like to buy one please post in the official t-shirt thread in the forum. Be sure to include whether you want a men’s or woman’s cut shirt, what size you would like, and if you have a number preference, what number you would like. There is no time frame or pricing yet as the planning is still very early, though it will likely be two or more months and expect the pricing to be slightly more than your typical t-shirt due to the special packaging that these will receive. I will post more details once I have them.

The design will be a metallic print on a black shirt, this may change depending on the capability of the printer.

CollectorsEdition.org Limited Edition T-Shirt

Where did this design come from?
Back in 2008 I commissioned a graphics designer acquaintance of mine to develop a new logo for the site, he came up with 3 concepts. The logo you see on the shirt above was one of them. I liked this better than the other logos although it didn’t work well with the layout and color style of the site. I decided that I would hold on to the design anyway and use it for a t-shirt some time later. As time went on the idea of making it a limited run grew in my mind. Here we area nearly 4 years later and now feels like the right time.

    Everybody would totally want one.
I signed up for this site couple months ago and I'm hooked on this forum

Put me down for a T-shirt. Probably need some sort of slogan unless you have one already. As long it's not tacky.

I think I will mention the site the next time I go down to local GAME store, will be interesting what they say.

Only if it's limited quantities and individually numbered! XP

Based on stats only a very small percentage of people actually sign up for the forums... so it's not surprising that we'd get a lot of lurkers.

I think it's pretty cool that complete strangers happen to bring the site up in conversation.... maybe it's a good time to start selling some t-shirts that people can wear as a conversation starter.
I know man sorry... But give me a break ya know? Maine is right there next to New Hampshire. I have family in both and I get them easily confused...

You say based on stats only a small percentage sign up for forums? I see a new introduction in my daily email alerts almost every other day! If you do that math, you could potentially have 2-300 new members signed up every year! Based on my experience with online communities, that is an outstanding turnout.

You DEFINITELY need to have some tshirts made Symph. I think the best way to go about it, is to put some designs together using the colors and banners from the forums and some blank tshirt colors, then put up a global forum-wide poll so everyone can see it and vote for what designs they like best! I would totally buy a CE.org tshirt and hat! and some other kind of goodies! lol

Also, as a really nice personal touch, I think you should do what Vhal suggested and have the tshirts personalized with member names (if the member wants it). You could create a little small online shop or create the designs at one of the major sites like http://www.cafepress.com/ or http://www.customink.com/ or http://www.zazzle.com/

I've done t-shirts before for other forums I run... The only way to make it cost effective is to work directly with a local print-shop... CafePress and similar sites are twice as expensive and the quality is crap.

I've actually had a t-shirt design done since before this site even had a forum. The graphic designer that I had do the site logo did a different logo for the site that I loved but didn't fit well with the layout. I decided to keep it to use as a t-shirt design down the road...

Nice idea but it's very cost prohibitive... doing something like that would easily double the cost of the shirts so I can say it probably wont happen.

What I'd like to do is make a limited quantity (say 50?) of the design I mentioned above, find some nice way to seal it and number them and do it as a limited release. Then have a 2nd design that I can just make a bunch of...

Haha. An internal collectors edition of the CE t-shirts - numbered. That would be pretty cool.

EDIT: An embroidery machine would come in handy to put your forum username on the t-shirt if you wanted to. On another forum, there was an admin there who was selling shirts and charged extra 20p per character or something. Was almost non-profit, was just doing it for the forum.

Same opinion, really nice that such community existed. I followed tiao with his huge Assassins Creed collection to this forum, so I think he promoted this forum in a way

Symphony that is just PURE awesome. Please make sure me (and the others here in this thread) are at the top of the list for that limited run of 50 shirts! I think having the original logo you said you kept for a limited run would be amazing man. Can we get a peek at what this awesome omitted logo is before you start production? I'm really curious...

I think having a second run tshirt you can make a whole bunch for is just perfect. Perhaps the second run could use the current design scheme of the site or banner?

I think if members want to have their forum name embroidered on the shirt (or printed) it's quite possible and I'm sure some of us are willing to pay extra to have it done. I know I would. I'd easily pay 60$ for a tshirt that had that limited 50 design and was sealed with my forum name on it. I think you should investigate what it costs and different methods to having forum names on the shirts, and if it's reasonable (like under 60$ total for a shirt) I think you could give people the option for it. Only as a limited run of course.

Heck! Maybe you could even consider having an integrated shop on the site! Like a merchandise shop! lol I'd buy CE.org stuff. Though I know that's more involved...

The max I would pay for a shirt is $30-40. Unless it has a numbered Certificate of Authenticity with Twistedsymphony's signature LOL

Well then you probably wouldn't go for one of those E3 or PAX tshirt auctions they have every year w/ limited tshirts from the shows. I see some of those go for 50-80$.

I'd hopefully manage to get number 7 for myself and number 17 for Allan (who is another member on here, just not frequent since I hog the laptop muahaha)

I'd be willing to pay extra for the username to be printed on or whatever, I really hope these tshirts get made, I'm excited already! xx

  14. Ayiu:
I have a lot to do with university at the moment so I'm not that frequent than months before but I still love this forum and the community and I would definitely buy such a t-shirt. I watched the forum growing, published lots of news and it's really great to be part of this community and I improved my English! Thanks to you guys

gee thinks hes an old fashioned centre forward with his number 9!!!

  18. Likey:
    I'll take number 00 then.

  19. Lemur:
