Default Assassin's Creed: Revelations - Special Edition announced (PAL)

I was just browsing the GAME website when I spotted that they have a Special Edition available for Assassin's Creed: Revelations (unsure whether this is an exclusive though)

PS3 - http://www.game.co.uk/PS3/Action/Adventure/~r355278/Assassins-Creed-Revelations-Special-Edition/

X360
- http://www.game.co.uk/Xbox360/Action/Adventure/~r355277/Assassins-Creed-Revelations-Special-Edition/

PC
- http://www.game.co.uk/PC-Games-and-Downloads/Action/Adventure/~r355319/Assassins-Creed-Revelations-Special-Edition/

No other details as yet, except the price. The PS3 and X360 versions will retail at £44.99, whilst the PC version will be slightly cheaper at £39.99, and is listed for a vague November 2011 release date

So, four editions, none of which appear to include another. Do we really require three alternative editions to the standard release? Pretty shabby that they've split these things between three different releases, rather than bundling them altogether for one uber-edition... There's no reason why the Collector's Edition and Animus Edition couldn't have been combined

I am guessing this was done to allow GAME, PLAY.com, and HMV each an exclusive - If that is indeed the case here. Personally I think it's ignorant, and only annoys their main demographic

Same thing in Australia, EB gets the Animus, Jb the collectors and Game the special. I dunno which one to get yet. Add in the inevietably different American special editions and its a nightmare.

None of these really grab me as much as previous ones, although I am leaning more towards the Animus Edition. The Collector's Edition does look equally appealing though, so might end up getting both of those over the Special Edition

I've pre-ordered Animus and Collector's... still considering the special...

Assassin's Creed Revelations presents the most immersive experience available in the series to date and the culmination of Ezio's adventure. We've got updated footage from Assassin's Creed Revelations, featuring commentary from one of the game's producers. We've seen a couple major trailers released and heard some preliminary details about the adventure, but at Gamescom we finally had a chance to see an extended demo featuring both Ezio and Altair in action.
