the first initial reviews of the game itself coming out of japan is very very bad letter grading stands at a "D" some of the complaints are "horrible story" "cheesy rap music infused in the soundtrack", "plays out more like a CG movie then a game".."ending is bad"..these are what reviewers are saying in japan, the first early reviews, one gave it a score of "53%" which was an average taken from early adopters and reviewers

i read 3 thrashy reviews, one of them said, they dragged it out, and left the door open for final fantasy 13-3, a "trilogy"..and all 3 sites cited final fantasy 13 to be a BETTER playing experience, then this one.

I don't even know why they even bothered making a sequel no one wanted when people are dying for Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

What reviewers ?
Do you mean like reviews from people on amazon or something?
Because press love this game there.

The team that works on Versus is different than the one that works on FFXIII.

^ Still, there are people who are part of both teams; the most important name being Nomura.

Just want to share that I played the demo. It wasn't bad but it got me drowsy at times.

Nomura may be an important figure in Square, but character designers aren't usually people who push the game towards completion after it actually started being programmed, and that's all he worked on when it comes to FFXIII/XIII-2

^ As I have said, he's not just the only figure who's part of both teams. And though you can call him as "just" a character designer for the XIII series, he tends to work at only one game at a time. Also, Versus XIII has garnered such huge hype since E3 2006 yet we find out that it's barely even touched because Square's been busy with their other (lesser?) titles. All these have led to fans get disappointed in Square for releasing an unwanted sequel when they could have been working on what the fans think is their next best project. So my point still stands.
