Just to let ou guys know that the price of this Special Edition has gone down to a more reasonable £79.99 (from HMV), and the release date is now the 18th of May 2012

HMV have created a special area of their site dedicated to the release of Max Payne 3:

Thanks for this Gemini, just switched from Zavvi - been reluctant to switch as my Zavvi order was £87 so was cheaper than other places but at least I'll save a little more and the packaging tends to be better from HMV

Still keeping a standard copy on order from Zavvi though so I get the bullet pen xx

I was about to cancel this edition from GAME and their site is down. Guess I'll have to contact them now. I'm not buying the collector's edition until it gets a fine price drop.

thanks for letting me know about HMV just switched from ShopTo which i wouldn't normally do but HMV is almost £20 cheaper!

Tell me about it! I even had to double check that it was the same edition because of the drastic price difference!

I think a lot of fans have complained that the CE was too expensive, and HMV would rather sell cheaper on pre-orders than reduce the price after release, which seems like common practice these days. No doubt the other retailers will drop their prices shortly...

Yeah ShopTo will more than likely drop the price but i think they might have already rubbed some people up the wrong way charging almost £100 for it!
