Releasing alongside the standard version, the Survival edition will contain the game, a mini art book compiled by art director Brian Horton, a double sided map of the title's island setting, a protective pouch, an access code to the soundtrack and a DLC weapon pack.

The Collector's edition will include all of the above plus a six inch Lara Croft figurine, and will come in "a unique Endurance crew member's metal survival box".

I'm really disappointed at it being a Play Arts figure though.

Sure, they're nice for action figures but to me action figures look cheap in comparison to statues any time that I've seen due to stuff like the points of articulation and then it's a case of standing them up or worrying about losing the silly detachable extras.
Tbh, that's why my Jensen from Deus Ex is never out of the box, it's horrible - heh, even the T-Rex from the Jurassic Park BluRay CE looks better imo and that has to be one of the cheapest ones I've seen. (Although, I actually kind of have a soft spot for the T-Rex, I think it might be because of how innocent and simple it feels - especially sitting next to my 12" Twisted Land of Oz Dorothy just now, haha.)

As far as I know and recently read that is the case!
US doesn't get a Survival/Survivor (whatever) Edition, just a CE and other small "exclusive" editions.

Bleh, why couldn't they have just gone with even a cheap statue over a crappy action figure? Hell, surely it has to be cheaper to make statues because you can just make them from a cast and be done rather than make a load of bits that have to be assembled.

Like I said before, it's the same as the Deus Ex one, they're awkward to keep standing, the articulation points totally ruin the look and I couldn't display it without worrying about losing all the little detachable accessories.


On one hand the collector in me wants to get the fanciest edition and the tin could be a nice thing but on the other it'll lie in the tin untouched and I don't even think it looks good.

For those of you wanting to preorder the US version CE (most complete version) on 360 from Amazon, it appears the game is partly region free. In that I mean the game will run on PAL & NTSC/U systems but won't run on NTSC/J systems.

Never like Play Arts Kai... they look funny to accommodate the joints (although if that's what you like they do the best of making the joints the least noticeable from what I can see).

I like good quality statues MUCH better then moveable figure... to each his own.


As far as why they do things like releasing another stature... because they know people will buy it! At the end of the day the dev can say all they want about how much love and passion went into the design and game but it is just about profit in the end (which is good, if they weren't we wouldn't get many games). Plus it is probably more to due with publishers then devs.

Have had 2 copies of the CE on pre-order with amazon for the Xbox 360 since October and today have received both copies of the game, which were well packed and arrived damage free as expected. :D However, amazon have only sent me one DLC code! >.< Have just been on the telephone to them regarding this and they have told me that because both items were ordered in the same order and not made as multiple orders, I am only eligible for one code!? What kind of bullshit is this!?

The woman just straight up refused to offer me a second code on the telephone and suggested that if I want another code, I request a refund on the item I already have and then re-order another copy of the game... -_- which is more expensive now than what I paid for the game already. Not to mention the offer isn't even on the product page anymore! >.< What has happened!? Bad Customer Service from amazon? I have been buying from them for years and never have I had such BS off them before! >.< Have been told that she is going to forward my issue to the Customer Concerns team and will be hearing from them soon. Only the second code which I am rightly entitled to will be acceptable... >.<

Yeah, I miss the days when we used to get loads of physical pre-order items from retailers in the UK. :( My favourite was the Red Faction Guerilla Walker figure. Was a nice item to give away with a game and was a good size too. My GF was working at GAME around the time when that came out and they said they must have slung about 20 of those in the skip out the back. Now it's next to impossible to get pre-order items from stores as they have usually ran out! >.<

Having lost faith in tomb raider, this is a buy after missing many sequels, tomb raider one led me into a lot of trouble in life, after downing a t-Rex i was led to believe i was superhuman and the next day tried to take on a badger in the park, the badger attacked me without mercy and i had to have 2 operations and many years of therapy so this is a big step for me to buy a tomb raider game again.

Mine seems to stand just fine now, you have you click her knees once (so that you can see a small gap in the front) and then adjust her toes with her legs about 3 fingers apart. Even shaking my desk can't knock her over now.

They should still learn to include stands with all their figures though.

I got the PS3 release from Best Buy, it's very similar. I didn't get the artbook, I got the comic instead. So I'm going to be on the look out for it. I can't get the statue to stand either, she should have come with a foot stand like Drake, or at least attached to something flat and solid like Cole.

Why is the hack amazon quality packaging is not consistenly ? Recently I recieved my MGR LE and they packed it with pieces of paper only :mad: , same experience with art of Dead space clamshell from Treehouse .

BTW my CE arrived pristine...Bubble wrapped, wrapped in brown paper and pre boxed with a warning sticker for the packers not to open the box an repack it. Great work by Amazon in my case.

Amazon in Europe usually does a very good job fat better than anything else I've ever dealt with, and they deal with MRW. Any other delivery company with some exceptions usually treat packages like trash.

My CE from the UK came inside two boxes . But the record was my Max Payne 3 edition from Amazon Germany which came inside three boxes (box in a box in a box, not kidding).

I just got mine and I have to admit, right off the bat I can't help but feel the UK got just a teensy but shafted compared to the US.

What's the point in one of those pathetic tiny art books when there's a standalone art book available? (The TR one feeling even smaller than other already small books you get sometimes.)
The patches, physical CD and litho would've been way better compared to that.

Also, yeah, I think I can safely say I was right - The figure is bollocks.

Got my CE today from Amazon, quicker than I expected, the expected delivery date was next Thursday!

It was packed in a box with a bit of that air packaging, but it's in perfect condition, can't complain really. :)

I'd assume that it wont be coming back on apart from a few returns. The PC version is OOS pretty much everywhere (for a sensible price) and i doubt this will be far behind. Though plenty of other sites have the PS3 version in stock (Play, Zavvi, GAME etc) Though no idea if they ship to Greece.

I'd like to have the confidence in them to ship it properly, but I've had countless orders from them arrive in insufficient packaging, so I was wondering if anybody could comment on how well their order was packed. I live in New Zealand, and if they're going to ship it in just a bubblewrap jiffy bag, I'm worried it's not going to make the journey here in one piece!

I order from them a bit, got the Naruto exclusive - really hit and miss - they do box but leave some gaps in box and the courier they use (Yodel) almost always find a way to damage products

so it really is a 50/50 chance

These are included in the US CE. EU CE is different, even the tin is different size!

just realize often companies (especially zavvi), tend to be hit and miss with packaging. Like my tomb raider from amazon, first time ever they used bubblewrap for me...while vhal got it send to without a box!

Not a bad little set, I happened to get it for cheap thanks to one of Zavvi's random voucher codes they sent me, as well as having some credit with them anyway.

I'll be honest though, I do tend to prefer models/statures/figurines than action figures so this one is back in it's box as opposed to on display.

I'm Skeptical. Hitman HD Collection never came in art book packaging for PAL regions. :D Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix did though, so it's anybody's guess... :S Plus knowing our luck, it'll come out here at 59.99GBP so would be cheaper to import anyway... >.<

I personally hate those digipack look-a-like artbook with the game inside.

Only because it means I have to get a separate case for the game :poke:
