Per the Bioshock Facebook page. These are neat.

They will only be available in the designated cities at the midnight opening for Bioshock Infinite, it will be possible to have them signed by the developers.

This could be a crazy theory each poster has a different vigor, they said they would be giving out bioshock stuff, what do you suppose the chances are of special made vigors, one for each city, maybe they have an extra crow left over, they have given them away before at events.its probably a slim chance but the first thing I thought of when I saw the posters.

flatout
03-24-2013, 08:30 AM
I would have to say that is extremely wishful thinking. There will be mobs of people and if they bring something wroth that much it will just cause issues.

I'm not saying it won't happen but I will say the odds are very slim IMO and I just don;t think they would do anything quite that extravagant.

Okay, my update for the New York opening is that I have two friends going with me that aren't interested in the posters. Now hopefully that means I'll have two extras but I don't know any of the details on how you're supposed to get these. I have a pre-order at Amazon but I made a pre-order for Gamestop today just in case. My friends don't have preorders and aren't interested in getting the game either so I don't know how tomorrow will play out.

Hmm, digged a little.

To hold you over until Monday night, here's a preview of the custom posters that our Irrational Games developers will be signing for fans picking up their games that night. Each location will get their own unique design.

As promised, here are the other 4 unique BioShock Infinite posters we'll be giving out to those at our Midnight Openings, since we've already shown off the LA ones. Don't miss out on meeting some Irrational Games developers!

Somewhat contradictory.

Me thinks that anyone showing up will likely get one. Lets face it,anyone showing up at a store at midnight deserves something for not being in bed:D

Anyone else going to any events, lets me know. I would loves to have a full set, unsigned or signed. I'll figure out a way to compensate for your consideration:):beg::)

I just got back from the Toronto one. It was a pretty cool event. They had 3 members of the dev team signing autographs. At their table they gave away + signed the exclusive event poster, either a 360 or ps3 promo piece (not quite sure what you call it, a piece of cardstock with art on it), a sticker, and a bag of pins/badges.

The poster is 10x18".

Unfortunately though, I asked one of the workers if I could have an extra poster for a friend but they said it's only for people who show up. Wanker!

Just came back from the New York event. It was honestly sad how little people came to this event, probably because of the weather. 40 people max. Same situation as the post above from winds, alt. artwork for game case, pins, poster were given away. Cosplayers got the key to the Songbird cage keychain that comes in the Hardcover strategy guide. Now the crazy part. They gave away a limited copy of the MIND IN REVOLT BOOK signed by Ken Levine to someone who clearly wasn't a fan so expect that on eBay. Now for the posters. The person from Irrational games in charge of the event clearly defined one poster per person and the rest will be destroyed. However, some small talk with, I think, the art director and he slipped me some extras. Sorry for my rant but I'm very excited about how today turned out. Those in contact with me via PM already are covered for.

Toronto had quite a bit of people. An original count at the beginning from one of the workers was 56 people. However that probably grew to about 120 people by nights end.

Yes I have 2 signed posters but the spare is reserved for a potential trade

They also gave out special PS3 or Xbox cover inserts that they signed, a sticker and a button

I also got the Devs to sign the standard game insert :bananayes:

I wanted to try and get more posters and probably could've if I was able to wait longer but the garage I parked in would probably have closed by the time I got back to my car and that would be bad.

I would estimate around 150 people at the SF opening

Hard to gauge though as I suck at estimating

winds
03-26-2013, 06:30 PM
Awesome you were able to get them to sign the game insert as well! Did you have to wait extra long for them to sign that? At the Toronto one they didn't start selling the game until midnight, which is what the supposed end of the signing session was. There was a second huge lineup to buy the game which I didn't feel like waiting for (already waited an hour for the signing session). I didn't get to see if those people bought it and got theirs signed as well.

Nope I was the first person to have that brillant idea in my store from the looks of things :P

Devs were in no rush to leave so got them to sign it :D

Suprisingly a good number of people were literally just at the SF one to pick up the game and meet the devs

A lot of them didn't really care about getting signatures and such

Still I had an interesting chat with the Dev that was behind elizabeths AI

Posted this in the "Mind in Revolt thread".

Hey guys, joined the forums after trying to look into what exactly Irrational Games gave me for being first in line at the LA launch event. The IG rep (I assume was a rep) told me it was 1 of 15 limited editi...and I couldn't exactly hear the rest of what she said since the crowd was so loud. Thanks to you guys I now have closure. The envelope itself was also signed by Ken Levine, Troy Baker (Booker), Courtnee Draper (Elizabeth), Kiff VandenHeuvel (Comstock), and various devs.

OK, sooo the interesting part of this story is that I wasn't exactly the first person in line but rather the sixth.

You see, I initially arrived at the GameStop at 9am with a buddy who had to leave cuz of a work call and he ends up stranding me there when the store opened. That's when I saw this girl holding a clipboard going into the shop, who I thought at the time was a GS employee. About 10 minutes later I was told by security (Citywalk has a shitload of 'em) I couldn't loiter near the store even after telling him about the midnight event. I end up leaving to pick something up to eat only to return to see five people in line right next to the security guard that kicked me out. I didn't say anything and got back in line.

Fast forward to 10pm and that same girl that saw me waiting by myself goes straight to me in the line to give me this strange envelope. Turns out to be the numbered Mind in Revolt Book. happy day.

The amount of posters I was given the night of the event and the amount of posters I brought back home were completely different. I must have left 2 or 3 copies on the public bus back home. There are some un-signed ones on eBay now. But they are either starting at .99 or listed as a BIN at $40.

Not worth the time or money as of now (maybe ever) IMHO.

No I am saying the same thing you are.

I like them but not worth the time or money is all.

Not huge on posters to begin with but these are really nice and are Bioshock ;)

I wouldn't want to pay anymore then $20 for an un-signed one but even then it would cost $100 for a set (I think there are 5.. right?).

I have a bunch of Toronto ones I'm trying to trade for other midnight release ones.

These buggers are hard to track down, took a week before anything other than Toronto started showing up in any serious capacity.

I have a feeling this is going to be a small collection I should just kinda forget about whether than stress over finding the lot.

I've been seeing old midnight release posters for Bioshock 2 selling for like $275. If that's any indication of these ones, I doubt 'waiting it out' is going to mean anything.

Wouldn't that kind of defeat the whole point of making them midnight release posters?

Don't see why really - they are still simply depicting the release date, but if fans are interested, I don't see it as an issue.

I suppose considering as well that the vast majority of fans would have been physically incapable of actually making it there, I just think this would be nice. Basically every competition that has been run relating to Bioshock has excluded international entries, so it would be nice to see something like this happen. (At least i think so :P)

Edit - But as was just mentioned, it's really the artwork on there that interests me, so I'd be very happy with them being re purposed as well.

I am assuming by your statement you didn't go? The fans that went would be pissed about this... that is what you are overlooking.

They might make similar ones but not the same... this is my strong opinion on the matter.

Considering I live in Australia, I did not ;)

The fans would be pissed? The same fans that are offloading them on eBay for a mint I wonder :P (And I know that's not all of them, just pointing it out.)

I'm not bothered about them being the same - take off the dates, etc, I just think the artwork is lovely and I'd love to have them framed together and mounted on my wall.

I don't understand it was a special poster made for a special midnight opening event

Why on earth would you be able to officially get if from anywhere but said midnight event?

I mean it even has the date and address on it

Buying something like that officially from the irrational store seems ridiculous to me but I guess that's just my opinon

If they made similar ones it would be fine but they will not make the same ones.

They would change more then the date if they made some (size, date, wording... ect).

I was actually the first guy to list one on eBay, and it did go for a mint, and I wouldn't be mad.

Maybe because I'm a collector first, and business man second, but if I could easily get my hands on these things I'd happily trade the rate in which I'm selling them for the convenience of grabbing the set.

These are definitely sweet posters. At first I thought I would just unload mine to make back some cash from my game purchase, but the more I looked at it, the more I loved it. Now I'm here trying to find the rest!

As flatout said though, I'll eat my hat if they end up releasing the actual 'midnight release' posters ever again. The art I could see being re-purposed in every way. Maybe some other word or reference across the banner and side, but you'll definitely never see any with "Toronto", "Boston", "San Francisco", etc., across the top ever again.

I would probably hold out for the other Bioshock art that will be coming out.

Oh well, each to their own :)
