It's definitely not a steelbook; you can see that from the spine. I'll still definitely be getting this. Tails is far and away my favorite RPG series, so it will be cool to finally have some kind of metal case for one of them! haha

Exactly! :D Borderlands 2 for example. Looked like a Metal Pak from the original image for the Loot Chest Ed. :D Though it did say it was a steelbook, but still... Here's a Hig res image.

As I said above, just because it doesn't look like a steelbook, doesn't mean that it isn't. ;) We'll know closer to release.

BUT there have been several times when a picture of a pre-order item/metal case is inaccurate

Not sure on importing new ones but old ones would fall under the grandfather clause

Also no customs official is going to care enough to do that even if by some miracle they are actually aware they're banned

Customs would only be interested if you tried to get several thousands shipped in :rotf:

As far as steelbooks and metalpaks go, I'm not that fussed. I don't own a single metalpak, but that wasn't by choice. There's just not been any CEs that I have purchased which have come with a metalpak. :D

this is supposedly gamestop germany exclusive...gamestop germany will hand out one with every full purchase..so how is one going to do group buy?..unless they were an insider or people were willing to pay full price for game..and will take the steelcase in whatever condition it comes in..dented, scratched, etc..

They said that they were in contact with the publisher about it, but in the end, they weren't chosen to produce it (so it must be a metalpak then) xx

SteelBook is by popularity the most sought after, best packaged, and best made.

Iron Pack is a bit behind in the quality department.

Star Metal Paks are fine on the outside but the hinges and cut spine for the hinges are just attrocious and cheapy made
While MetalPak is a great product, it lacks the uniqueness, quality and buyer appeal of SteelBooks?.

Could always rely on them for a couple great steelbook releases a year
