So I just got my BF4 "tin" from GameStop - my friend said he only got two of them in and he held one for me - its the G2 size though :( anyone know if these are coming in G1 as well? It looks rather sad next to all the new steelies I just got, all short and stuff...

Thinking ill ask around and see if maybe the stores got each a G1 and a G2 (my friend couldn't remember if the other was the same size or not)...

The Futureshop steel is G1. THe UK Deluxe and Czech steel is G1 or G2 (360 / PS3 versions). The US Metalpack is G2--mine is still in the mail, so could be wrong on this, but I'm nearly certain it is.

I'm pretty sure the Gamestop metalpack is G2 only, but if someone has a confirmed G1 of it, please correct me. I was not aware of the second metalpack--the one that looks like the EU steel. It seems to be identical except for being a metalpack. That's just like what happened with MoH: Warfighter, where one of the designs had a metalpack and a steelbook version. I also question if that is a metalpack? The front picture could still be the steel, and the inside picture is the same inside art as the US metalpack. I'm not 100% sold on that thing existing. lol

For your link, the title says 360 & PS, and when you look at the pics, you can see that it is the same-ol' G2 metalpack.

Eh, not counting metalpacks, it only has 2. Even with the metalpack, though, it's only at 3. It's pretty in line with BF3, which had 3 steels, too. I hate it that Killzone 4 has no steel, though. The Killzone steels are always so cool!!

Yeah, definitely the G2. Well, at least I only have 2 choices to choose from in terms of which steel I want for this game now ;) When I get my FS thread up and running after the holidays (selling quite a few things I believe) I'll probably just toss this in as a freebie - until then it'll annoy my OCD-ness sitting in a stack of G1's. Battlefield 3 had 4 steelbooks with 3 different designs (Futureshop G1, Gamestop Northern Europe G1, Europe Collectors Edition G1+G2) 3xG1 + 1xG2.

I don't count different sizes of the exact same steel as different variants or extra steels. I only count how many different ones. So a game with 4 steels that each have a G1 and a G2 version would only be 4 in my eyes. It's all a matter of semantics, I suppose.

This is true but I believe zaku counts the CE G1 and G2 as one because the share the same design.

I wish that Future Shop put some originality in their steelbook because their plain boring, the battlefield steelbook is exactly the same as the cover of the game with nothing in the backside, looks more like a steel that cost a penny to do.

Same with the NHL14 and Fifa14 basically the same, no wonder their steel doesn't sell

It will be the end of FS steel if they keep up like that :P

I can confirm 100% that [almost] all G1 metalpaks for sale on ebay are just incorrect information.

I have contacted quite a few and even purchased one, who said it was a G1..until later after he shipped it, he corrected himself and said it was a DVD size.

Also most people write XBOX360/PS(3) only because the G2 metalpak was given regardless of which system you bought BF3 for.

I think you're thinking of BF3 there Lemur with the plain black one but I'm pretty sure, unless I'm going mad, this one was in G1 with 4 disc holders and G2 with 1 disc holder... and is def a steelbook

Yeah, I think that's the BF3 one that you're mentioning Lemur. And thanks Mags for the post! I didn't want to hunt for one if it didn't exist -- I'm sad that the cool looking FS one (with actual graphics on it) is only G1 :( Looks like I'll hunt for the boring lettered one. I specifically ignored the BF3 one that looked like that because it was boring but a boring steel is better than no steel I guess.
