The Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection will be released to mark the franchise's 25th anniversary. The bundle includes Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid 3: HD Edition (including the original MSX versions of the first two games), Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, and Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition.

On top of the games, the compilation pack will also include two Ashley Wood digital graphic novels.

In all seriousness I'm very happy with this, even though this seems like a do-over of the previous HD collection.

Now if they could only do a proper Silent Hill/Zone of the Enders HD collection. They might get it right the second time.

That's what I thought initially but don't underestimate the rabid MGS fan base overloading the Konami inboxes to get this over here. I dunno, got a good feeling about this.

ya who knows i hope that logo is the one used for the package though I like it myself. I am also surprised they didn't include portable ops as well granted it is for psp but still.

if they were going to kill of the franchise for good and put this series to rest once and for all.then this would have been a perfect collectors tribute item..but with many more games on the way..i am sure they will do this again for 30th, and 35th and 40th etc...just a moneygrab for now..i would pass on it..even though i am a big fan of the series...they kept saying the zavvi exclusive HD Collectors edition was very very limited also..but the xbox360 version languished for a good long time..and the ps3 version eventually sold out after discounting.

i wish they would top it off with steelbook packaging...i bet nonetheless..it won't be particularly rare since it's wide release..and i think the japanese packaging will probably be different..and maybe even a konami store japan version?,.just speculation on my part.

The Legacy Collection is expected to be available in Japan in June exclusively for the PS3.

The package will include: Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 (which includes the original MSX versions of METAL GEAR and METAL GEAR 2), Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions and Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition.

MGS 2, 3, and Peace Walker will all come in their 'HD Edition' forms, and the collection will also include two Ashley Wood digital graphic novels.

Does anyone know what these are? "Metal Gear Solid: Bande Dessinee & Metal Gear Solid 2: Bande Dessinee" & ""Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Book". It appears they are blu ray films included in the package on their site, yet no other news article mentions them? I assume the "Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Book" is just the game booklet as the pic would suggest...

These are just voice acted interactive graphic novels. Similar concept of the psps digital graphic novel but not put on psp basically.

i wonder if the US version will be identical to the japanese packaging?..to me..the overall asethetics and packaging look more like greatest hits, then anything..just more or less generic boxes with text font...i would of wished more art in the line of the 25th FF japan edition rehash..at least it had beautiful colors and vivid art...this one looks boring..nonetheless i will probably order one, if the price screams value..but i am under the impression it will be mass produced..probably can be picked up down the road cheaper.

screw the limited availability crap, it's a nasty collection of 8 MG games in HD. worth it for the playability. Legacy Collection is a must buy if your a fan of the game. I've had several people trade in their HD collection towards it since its come out.
