Hello everyone my name is Dan and I'm a collector from Los Angeles, CA :wave:
New to the forum and after weeks of being a member and admiring some of you guys amazing collections, I decided to finally post mine.

Around April-ish of this year, my girlfriend called me saying our house got broken into... and they stole soooo much :-_-: From televisions, my computer, our tablets, my consoles and most of my collections.. to the food inside the freaking fridge :rant:... so I'm starting out ALL over again...

Seeing as you are in the US, and you have a nice set of 3 of the Mexican Army of 2, Dead Space 3 & Crysis 3 steels; i'm going to assume you won those on ebay as a set of 3 each?

It was a horrible feeling... They took my Ipad and I managed to download the find my phone app to it before it was stolen just incase... unfortunately i was a wifi Ipad and who ever stole it never got online again so... there goes that.

The cops did came and took finger prints but they never found out anything.
I just came to a conclusion that who ever came and robbed us most have needed our stuff a lot more than we did and move on. :shrug:

When they stole my stuff and I had to start all over, there was only ONE obvious choice where to start :)

My cat is better now he was hiding for a while which had me worried but hes coming around.

Just started reading through your posts. As someone else already mentioned, I gotta salute your attitude toward the whole thing. Not much you could have done differently, but you seem to have handled it as well as anyone could. Your collection is looking awesome already after just a few short months!

It also got me thinking. You (hopefully) were compensated by your insurance company, which put you in unique position to rebuild your collection from the ground up.

I know I've made a few purchases here and there that I wouldn't make again today; and, given the same amount of money to spend, I would choose to rebuild somewhat (not totally) differently a second time around.

What's your approach? Are you trying to re-buy everything just as you had before or are you taking a more fine-tuned approach this time?

Hello, ◉‿◉ It took me a bit to get over it... There's a few items I lost and I know I won't be able to get back without paying an arm and a leg (demon souls deluxe edition and black phantom edition) so just move on... Who knows maybe they'll appear under my Christmas tree ;)

As far as the renters insurance goes, I've live in a pretty decent area so I never thought my house would get broken into. Now I regret not having it... I'm mainly glad my puppy and cat where home safe, scared but safe.

Thanks, it was ridiculously expensive.. now all i need is Mirros Edge, AC 2, AC Brotherhood, and Killzone 3 Belgian sticker book AND then i'll be happy and sad :):(

I wasn't planning on buying AC3 but the guy whom i buy some of my stuff from was selling it for 80 and included that limited edition guide sealed so...........

I couldn't say no lol

i have two of them, when i purchased my ACIV LE and Batman AO CE i had to buy doubles for my nephew.

so, I just stole his steel, which I think I'm trading with mags?? but i'm not sure anymore.. she hasn't gotten back to me about trading my G2 for her's G1.

Here's a small update, I'm a little late on the PS4 but I must say I truly love this amazing equipment. It's smaller, lighter (even tho the power brick is integrated inside the console itself it still feels very light) but so much more powerful and better yet and it runs very quietly... the buttons on the console themselves are no longer buttons you press but more of a touch-activated buttons.

As far as the software goes, I would say it's a tad confusing at first.. and a bit intimidating in the sense that there is so much on the home screen, I didn't want to click on anything in the fear I would mess it up. But once you get comfortable with the settings it just feels more like second nature than anything else. The console itself runs extremely smoothly, very quick and responsive and I yet to have any issues with the system lagging or freezing for a brief seconds (Like the ps3 did for example when I was playing online and tried messaging my friends). Overall, I really really really love this machine and I'm very pleased with it.

Before I start with my update, I just wanted to thank ZeeAussie.. There's times when I truly feel there's a lot of shitty people in the world... but just when you loose hope on humanity, there's people like ZeeAussie. That come around and make you really think that they're still some really amazing people out there to make things better. Thanks Zee :barsong:

Very nice on the Assassins Creed statue. I unfortunately decided I am bowing out of collecting for the series. It to me has just turned into another CoD. Another year another game. I realize that there are many collectors for the series and many a rarities for it; but running out of room and there are a couple other series for me that take precedence.

I know I could get torn to pieces for saying that and :surrender: but if you step outside of the collecting circle and look at the game series itself... Since 2007 they have launched one game each year; that is if you count Assassin's Creed: Alta?r's Chronicles for the DS in 2008. That is 7 games in 7 years. Don't get me wrong some of the rare items are phenomenal, but I find I have lost too much interest. Probably a good thing with Bioshock and Souls; they definitely take up a fair share of income.
