GTAV Midnight Launch at NYC Gamestop

Saw the announcement posted on Facebook. DJs that are on the soundtrack will be there with exclusive promotional items. I'm hoping some devs will there as well since the a studio is located in New York as well. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to go to help members out but I might have friends going.

xzone has this all over the country. Giving T-shirts, stickers and another promo. I wont be there though :(

According to the official announcement, there should be one for San Fransisco as well as Los Angeles, Seattle, Boston, and New York.

We'll also be visiting GameStop stores in and around New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle & Boston.

I tried to contact them two days ago to get some details as to where exactly the other events are being held. I have yet to get a response. Judging by the comments, I'm not the only one puzzled by the lack of information.

According to my friend that went last night, the developers came to party with the crowd and gave away very limited amounts of swag. The most abundant was stickers and a very limited few received Chop the dog plushes and t-shirts. Nothing truly exclusive to the NY event.

I'm gonna momentarily tear myself away from GTAV to tell the tale of the OC midnight thingy...

The midnight release I went to (that happen to be across the street from my house) was one of the few to have R* and strangely enough, Microsoft doing their own thing. Thanks to an array of eating contests I'm now shamed on youtube thanks to peer pressure to do the hot wings contest...sad times for stayfree.

In terms of swag, I was able to get Chop stickers, Chop rub on tattoos, the new GTAV poster, GS bracelet, and also won the MS raffle to get an Xbox One lightsaber (seriously can't make this stuff up).

Microsoft had there own launch in which they gave out keychains, t-shirts, hoodies which had both the GTAV and Microsoft logos.

srry for the late reply...like I said earlier...GTA @_@

Honestly I don't know. They had a random booth setup outside of the GameStop completely separate from what R* was doing. I'm guessing they were trying to take advantage of the GTA hype by doing various contests, while at the same time promoting Xbox One.

...and about the lightsaber...well, does anything MS do now-a-days makes sense? :bunny:

I wish I was able to go to NYC. R* has their corporate office there, so I imagine it got pretty crazy. I think they might've had launch parties in Europe at their studio.

I have a R* friend and it sounded like a different party altogether for something else.
