Well a member of another forums published the email which he got from the zavvi customer support there and in that email it was confirmed it will be G1-size because he asked the customer support if the steelbook will be G2-Size and then they answered him that it will be G1-size.

That unboxings should be always made of ps3 versions, so we can see if the steel inside is G2, so we would know for sure that xbox edition would had G1 size steel.

I had my pre order for quite long time for this but now,after i seen it...ugggghhhh.Tomb dosen't look like on picture,artbook is extremely small and the Zaavi steelbook is much,much better then this redish ugly one...I won't even mention figurines coz they look just tragic.And it's highly overpriced.Oh and it got another bad reviews-GI gave it 6/10 and Edge gave it 4/10.

Ill stick with Zaavi steel,and quickly sell the game.Im sure that price will drop quickly for standard edition and then ill check the game.

I think if you played the demo and looked at all the screenshot of the game, anyone can conclude that the game is anything but ugly and unimaginative, quite the contrary, it's a pure gem architecturally speaking and art wise.
I definitly loved the demo.

As for the gameinformer review, I keep reading here and there that they give it a 6/10 but i can't find that damn review anywhere :S It should obviously be on their website but NO. I can't find any review on http://www.gameinformer.com

Im not thinking the game MUST be bad coz of reviews.I had played a lot of games that got bad reviews and i loved them.I finishied first LoS couple of times-it was absolutely fantastic for me.So i have a HUGE hopes for this one.
Bad reviews here and there just make me dissapointed.I red Cd-Action(polish magazine) review wich gave it 5+ and it made me worry.Then another bad reviews showed up.It must be something wrong....i just hope not.Atleast not for me.

I will get Zaavi version on premiere for sure,i just wan't to erase that tragic CE from my head....

Mr underfox the box of chocolate was funny and you were right, the figures look like something you would put a on a wedding cake but that's just me, the special edition you are getting from uk is the book going to change to the one in the unboxing? If so not good? You can get it on Amazon USA but they want to much coin. Amazon not posting to Australia some crap over here not sure what some restriction makes me think they have watered down the versions here like the South park game.

I got the Dark Souls 2 CE to ship to me? I realise Amazon always do something stupid as allowing global shipping but just not to Australia and for some reason it will become shippable one day after I email / live chat them. I got the Dark Souls 2 CE to ship to me? I realise Amazon always do something stupid as allowing global shipping but just not to Australia and for some reason it will become shippable one day after I email / live chat them. Probably Australia is not in the list of worldwide and need to be added manually?

It took Australia forever to have an 18 in gaming, so I think Amazon are still running with the laws of imports here. sad to say and I was born in he UK this place sucks for adult content but food Damn! Try bringing a apple into the country.

It is not worth the pricetag, and seeing the game isn't received well by the critics, I'd advise to wait for a price drop. Also everyone should know that the tomb itself is not even plastic, it's like thick paper/cardboard or sth like that.

Artbook is great, steelbook is nice (nothing special, no title in spine for some reason!), figurines not as bas as someone would imagine. Overall, not happy to be honest.

The game is great but that's just my opinion though.

You know how those review goes, they compare LoS 2 to previous Castlevania titles rather than comparing it with LoS. If a game have QTE then they will drop the review score by 2, no multiplayer drop another 2. Have the world Call of Duty it will be instant 9 and above.

All the review keep comparing it to God of War. Lol it is not supposed to be a God of War clone :/

Read metacritic review for User Score, much more accurate score for games as it is reviewed by players rather than paid reviewers.

While God of War clone is going too far, the game--unless it's just radically different from the first--was quite obviously heavily influenced by GoW. The first one did a lot of things right in a lot of ways, but the combat was simply a bad God of War. While that shouldn't be the main backbone of the review, that's a hard angle to ignore.

Given how unhappy so many people seem to be with it, I am seriously considering waiting to order mine off amazon.fr. My only worry is that it may sell out. Then again, the CE for the first game was available for a while, and this game has received worse reviews and more people unhappy with a very spendy CE. I think all the signs point to eventual--and maybe not even too far off price drop; but it's hard to say for sure. Hell, even having it dtop to 80 vs 100 EUR would be a nice little bit of savings.

Even though I don't have the Black Chest edition (I've seen it though), I think it's similar to the Buccaneer or the Freedom edition - the LoS2 Tomb it's definitely nothing like those. I don't think I can describe it properly though...

You're too kind. This edition simply sucks. No packaging, the box is made of CARD, no proper place for the steelbook and the figurines are pure crap. It should not cost any more than 70 euros. And people from the UK got ripped by game uk because this edition sold for the exact same amount in euros in the rest of the countries. This will end up for 40 or 50 at most, maybe less.

But I have seen the edition for 94,99 Euro on buecher.de a german online shop if you use a voucher code (10 euro value) you will get that edition for that price.

It's 90 EUR on Amazon France. Amazon is especially good for those of us in the US because they take all the EU/UK (depending on which amazon it is) taxes off so we get the items for even cheaper than they are listed.

Hi All

I live in Australia and I pre-ordered my Castlevania 2 - Dracula's Tomb Edition through EB Games well before Christmas last year.

Then about a week ago, I went to look at the link I saved, knowing it was coming up for release (it was pushed back from Feb 28 to Mar 6), but the page did not exist anymore. So I rang them regarding it and they gave me the new release date you read above.

When I arrived at my local EB Games yesterday to pick it up, I was told the prices was.... wait for it, (I hope you're sitting down)... $270.00! Yep, you read that correctly. Now, I couldn't recall the price at the time I pre-ordered it, but I told the person behind the counter that it was around $169.00 and that I wouldn't be getting it for that price.

Anyway, they brought it out for me to look at (same as the pictures on here already) and my first comment was that it was cardboard and I was very disappointed with the presentation of the box. Earlier in this thread, someone mentioned it should of been made out of wood, which is what I said at the shop. Both the Steelbook and artbook are nice, but I wasn't too excited about the figures and packaging.

I left it at the shop and not long after I arrive home I received a phone call from them saying they did some 'research' and that the distributor had increased the price and because I pre-ordered it at the original price (it was in fact $179.00), that I could purchase it for that. I told them I would get back to them with an answer.

Obviously, after seeing the product and not being overly excited about it as a whole, and reading everyone's comments on here, I've decided they can keep it and I will just purchase an ordinary copy.

Yes, the prices are higher in Australia. Unfortunately, that's just the way it is.

Just curious . . .did anybody actually send their copy back? I know it would be difficult to do after the wonderful cardboard "packaging" was opened but did anybody return theirs on the strength of what they learned here or with the pre-release unboxing.

It's only gone down by 15 EUR so far. I'm sure it will go down further--especially given that it started dropping within a week of release lol. I don't think it's unreasonable to think it will get to 60. If it gets to 60, then I would go ahead and order it in a heartbeat. It would still be expensive, but that's cheap enough--given the original price.
