Thank you thank you thank you SOOOOO MUCH for letting us know about this.

My brain did not even thought twice about it. I clicked the buy button without looking at the price ( dangerous thing to do) Instant preorder of that BEAUTY.

I paid 110$ to ship to france. It is kinda hard to swallow but for journey, I will eat potatoes for months if needs be. ( my brain is yelling at me saying I should have resisted, I told him to stfu )

If I see that happening, I have a something to say to them...

I don't know who you are but I know what you want. If you are looking to flip art, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you remove your listing now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

I wish I could be there, though being over 3,000mi away does create a small problem. That is horrible for you to wait that long to get nothing out of it.

When I was browsing ebay to see if any imbecile listed one of the gallery paintings yet, I came upon listings for signed CEs. That is definitely despicable. I wish Nucleus had people sign some sort of waiver stating they can't re-sell things, or at least within a set amount of time, such as a year.

If you can't tell, I loathe flippers. They're the lowest of the low.

So you support flipping? Yes, a waiver. Collectibles are not meant to be resold, they're for the fans.

I would never support a lowlife flipper even for a piece of desperate for. Doing so just gives them ammo to do it again.

that's how it works when buying a house.

you must keep it for a minimum of a 2-5 years before selling it otherwise there's a fee you must pay. (this is made to prevent people from flipping homes and making large amount of money)

They should have handed out the wrist band the moment you are in the queue. This way it will prevent those people that 'queue' for their big group of friends.

I am indifferent to flippers and accept they exist now and don't bitch about it.

If companies really cared about things only going to the fans they would not make limited editions or in the case of Nucleus signing only sign 200 games.

Why do you even go on Ebay?

I can't believe I'm bothering to write this...

If you were too slow to beat the flippers to your purchase, you were probably too slow to beat the other fans.

Romeo, we get it. You are a broken record. All the internet tough guy talk in the world isn't going to change how the world works.

Retailers sell things to make money. Oh you're a fan? Who cares. There are a whole bunch of fans out there. And guess what, most of them have more money to spend than you do.
Should a retailer raise prices to insure that only "true fans" who are willing to shell out more can get any particular item? That doesn't seem to work. Take a look at all the bitching in the Irrational store thread about the prices on signed items. All of those recent signed releases are still available in the store. They don't sell on the aftermarket, so they are not selling out. As a retailer, is it not preferable to sell out your whole stock immediately? Strong aftermarket drives that.
Well then, why don't they just make more so everyone can have one? Take a look in the Bethesda thread where people are complaining about there being too many of things produced, making them less "collectible".
You want people to not be able to do what they wish with things they have purchased? Asinine.

that's how it works when buying a house.

you must keep it for a minimum of a 2-5 years before selling it otherwise there's a fee you must pay. (this is made to prevent people from flipping homes and making large amount of money)

Under 26 U.S.C. §121[20] an individual can exclude, from his or her gross income, up to $250,000 ($500,000 for a married couple filing jointly) of capital gains on the sale of real property if the owner used it as primary residence for two of the five years before the date of sale. The two years of residency do not have to be continuous. An individual may meet the ownership and use tests during different 2-year periods. Both tests must be satisfied during the 5-year period ending on the date of the sale

As a collector, I have come to accept there are certain things I will miss out or too slow to get, such as this piece. But it all makes it more challenging as a collector, and even more satisfying if in the end manage to trade one or get one for a reasonable price.

All companies operate based on profit, those fan-service stuffs I never take it seriously. Of course companies like TreeHouse and IrrationalStore take extra steps to reach out to us, and give us heads up or tips, and I really appreciate that. But dont expect them to restrict flippers on the business side. It is after all, business.

Your quotation refers to primary residence. Even after you edited it, still only applicable to primary residence. Even if those same rules applied (which they do not,) you would still not be assessed taxes unless your profit from the sale exceeds 250,000/500,000.

There are numerous ways around capital gains if you are running a for profit home flipping business. Of course you still pay tax, but 30% is a far cry from reality.
Google 1031 tax exchange.

edit: Also, this bickering is pointless.

------------

But as I have read on this thread, I too do not like flippers, but they are part of the "market" as well. Like Bling mentioned, in the end it's all about sales. People just have to either learn to deal with the flippers, or get richer :lmao:

Also, if only "true fans" were the ones to buy these collectible items..then no one outside the original buying group would ever get one.
For example, to all those of you that missed out this time, you might get lucky and buy/trade for one (at perhaps a reasonable price)
If only "true fans" had purchased all the copies of the SC, then why would they ever want to sell/trade the piece?

Just my 2 cents.
