I can't believe they're doing one of Vyse. Skies is probably my favorite my JRPG of all time.
easy purchase for me.

Never actually played through this one myself, so I'm passing on it. Looks pretty nice though. I'm just sad for all these statues that have an "exclusive" version which is really just an extra hand or head or weapon or something - really like the ones that are noticeably different in color or light-up features or something like that.
Also, I really wish some company would start making high-quality Suikoden statues - even if I had to collect all 108 of them (for each game) I would do that in a heartbeat... (though I'd probably have to sell my heart to afford it) ;)

It was one of my very few sega dreamcast games :P

One of the best games I ever played!! Worth buying a Dreamcast/Gamecube for this alone.
A must buy, thanks for posting :)
I was about to post this ;) Preordered my exclusive already. So excited! This is one of the best JRPGs I've played ^___^ Christmas will be perfect with Vyse and Zelda!

Had this for the Dreamcast and never got around to playing it before I got rid of em all - I still have it for the Gamecube though I believe - with all these glowing recommendations I guess I'll have to try it out when I get a spare moment.
The statue looks pretty awesome though either way!

I don't get this. And another statue company does this. Having one extra piece as an add on does not make it an exclusive edition! It's clearly lying and false advertising. The statue itself is the same, the paint, the pose, everything about it. Having one extra part in the package does not make it unique or exclusive to give it separate numbering.

Agreed. The cutlass could be a preorder bonus for the first 425 orders or something. It could still be exclusive but would keep the edition smaller. 1425 statues in total is a lot. I don't think F4F sell out much these days either. But its to be expected I suppose, majority of F4F have exclusives editions.

Even worse to me was the McFarlane Black Flag statue. They initially stated a limited release of 1,000 statue. Then right before launch they said 950 statues, 50 "artist like proof". Bull. Shit. They took out 50 from production and literally just did not paint them. Then they have the nerve to give them separate serial numbers and claim a special edition.... IT ISN'T EVEN PAINTED! :hammer:

I disagree with you, most of these "exclusive" editions not only do they cost more than the regular edition but come with a exchangeable whatever. Which I guess can justify their reason to why they cost more... But the McFarlane statue didn't cost extra and was different from the original one.
Also the artist proof was never announced as a "special" or "exclusive" edition they just made an artist proof (like most of the McFarlane statues)..

Honestly I would love this as just a one-off to have something from SoA Memorabilia.
Edit: Ordered. This is gonna be a sweet x-mas present! (and my first figure/statue!)
Thanks OP!

Costing more isn't the issue, as extras are including. What bothers me is the illegal false advertising of exclusivity. Throwing in an extra piece does not make the edition of a hand painted statue unique. The statue is still the same. The add on is what is different, hence claiming two versions and two runs is a lie.
In regards to McFarlane, producing 1,000 statues then taking 50 off the production line, simply not painting them, then giving them their own serial number, is not unique or special. They took away from the real run of statues and are selling an unfinished product. If a car company like Ford makes a special edition of the Mustang with serial number (which they do often), then last minute say "hey 50 of these are artist proof!" Which means they're unpainted, and charged the same price, wouldn't you agree paying the same amount of money for an unpainted car is just silly?

They never announced that it would be a "separate statue" or that it would be "an exclusive statue" aside from the original. They announce it would be an artist proof. Some people tend to be extremely picky when it comes to the painting of the statues so they prefer an unpainted one and that's how the artist proof comes about.

They do it all the time... Scion (sub company to toyota) releases "limited" exclusives every time they release a new car... when in reality all they really are, are just differently painted cars.

They do it on a yearly basis 2008, 2009, 2010-2013, and i'm sure scion isn't the only company that does it...

We're close to the same page here yet still misunderstanding one another.
In regards to the McFarlane statue, they initially said 1,000 are being produced. Afterwards that was changed to 950 and 50 for an unpainted version. That is just silly. You're paying for an unfinished product taken from the original production of 1,000.
That's where I mentioned the limited editions for vehicles. Sure the paint is different, yet it is unique and limited. Now if they took a limited edition of 500 cars, then near release said "hey 50 of the 500 will be unpainted" yet charge the same price, for an unfinished vehicle, doesn't that sound silly to you?
To be more on topic specifically, I like a lot of these statues, and want the new Tomb Raider one coming out. Yet the "exclusive" is just an extra arm with the shotgun in her hand. The statue is still the same, so in reality there are NOT two versions, just one big production. I won't support companies that do that nonsense.

Damn, I remember the good old days when playing this game, both on Gamecube and Dreamcast.
Of course, the Gamecube was better with the wanted bounty hunter sidequest (not available on the Dreamcast). Extremely tough, especially the original copies.
No Fina statue, bummer :(

I always get nervous when companies start producing cool statues for RPGs like this cuz it makes me sad when there's only 1 (or a few) characters out of a larger group. But who knows, this one has gotten ALOT of publicity and positive feedback from what I've seen/read elsewhere so maybe this franchise will take off... into the Skies! ;)

No, at least not at the moment. My "I want to buy this Statue" list is WAAAAAAaaaaaaay too long at the moment to justify buying something for a franchise that's not in my "Top 10". Its nicely done and looks great (plus I like the size a lot!) but need to draw the line somewhere.
I played Skies of Arcadia on the gamecube. It was the 2nd most memorable RPG I played since Earthbound. Great game play. Skies of Arcadia is in my top 3 most favorite games of all time. Very happy to see Vyse. I dont care for much of the other characters though.
