OK, so I think it's about time to introduce myself:

I'm Alex, 33 years old, female. I started collecting retro games 3 years ago. I discovered my love to colorful gaming consoles and handhelds so this became my main hobby.
My absolut favorite game is Bioshock Infinite; guess I know Columbia better than the streets of my hometown (no, I don't need to guess - I KNOW).
I'll give you a glimpse of my collection so far. I will take single pics of my consoles when I have the time to do it (probably never).

Well, that's it so far. My other consoles are in the living room but there has been a cat between me and my camera every time I wanted to take a picture. Needed to feed them first. Then I lost interest in making pictures. It's a vicious circle.

@JRPGFan: Would love to have the vigor bottles but whenever I have some money put aside someone shows up with a limited console/handheld and the money is gone as if taken by an invisible hand :shrug:

@KnightOfTruth: It's just a normal black gamepad with an Famicon Cover. Someone sent it to me from Japan. Will take a better pic of it when I'm home.

I absolutely love your Xbox 360 consoles! Beautiful collection.

And Bioshock Infinite is indeed a brilliant game with two excellent DLC's. But I prefer Rapture although Columbia was nice. ^^

@deathhound: It's about 1m x 0,50 m. It has kind of a string rubber-ribbon on the back that adds the fact that I have no glue HOW to stick it on the wall.

@Seesternmann: I started playing Bioshock 1 and 2 but it's just not the same to me. Maybe it's because I startet with Bioshock Infinite and have a deep fascination with Zeppelins :shrug:

@Twisted: I have a clear case for the 3DS XLs, so they are standing on their own. They look like this:

For the other stuff like the Gameboy Advance SP for example I use "Schiebeständer" (I have not the slightest idea how to translate this into english). They are usually used to display Stones and Minerals. There are different sizes and you can expand the depth. Here's a picture of it:

Arrived yesterday. Got it quite cheap (56 Euro) and... it's still sealed! :nosleep: It also came in the original box from capcom (the one with the red sticker on the corner).

from the viewpoint of a collector, I know about your conflict.

I gave up leaving things untouched in their box. For me collecting is also seeing and knwoing in detail whats inside. I do not want to miss great cover artwork or small details like leaflets, coupons e.g.

So I made opening a sealed box some kind of "ritual".:D

I take images of every small step while opening or taking out parts. So you can remember later what was the original position and condition of any item.

And depending on the content I wear cotton gloves for not leaving fingerprints on plexiglas, DVDs or artwork printed on glossy papers. So nothing will look worn afterwards. Using the gloves has the positive sideeffect that you do it much slower then normal, which I appreciate.

Just my 2 cents.
