I'm going to have to agree with you. $400 was and is a stupid ass price tag for this CE. The only main reason I bought one was I like the series and the 5000 piece count. Even with that, I'm rather disappointed...:(

Did they ever confirm if it was 5000 total or 5000 per console? Someone on reddit or somewhere(?) recently was commenting that their wifi# with their Claptrap was 5912 or something so they thought perhaps it was >5000, but obviously just speculation. Was just curious if Gearbox ever gave the official word?

The first sentence on the second last paragraph is "Limited to 5,000 units worldwide". I think it means that PS4 version is limited to 5,000

Hi guys,

My Handsome Jack Clap Trap in a box Edition arrived today and I opened it to take a look at the quality.

I have to say that I am disappointed overall. There is not much substance to the Clap-trap unit. It looks to be made out of a thin plastic material which is painted to a decent degree, but still lacks the punch needed to get excited about it. At first glance, it looked to be made out of a hard and thin cardboard rather than plastic but tapping on the outside made me lean more towards the plastic material.
The arms and antenna need to be attached to the unit. The arms do not seem to be bendable in the final product, but maybe it's because I haven't assembled mine (still in the original plastic).
The Clap Trap is hollow, other than whatever motors are needed to run the thing, and I'm not sure how to gain access tot he camera to add batteries (then again, I haven't fully explored the unit because I'm leaving it in the original plastic.)
I'm including 2 pictures here for reference. The first is of the bottom of the box that the clap trap is in. It shows what comes in the box and although I couldn't get the english in there, I can translate to the best of my ability from the German that is visible:

1 Antenna
2 Arms
1 Unit
1 Base (stand)
1 USB cable
Operating instructions
Smartphone not included

On the right you can see the specs, battery life and other info for the unit.

The second picture is the unit in the box, as it appears when you open it.

Of course, the Lithos are included as well - I have not cracked them yet as they come in a sealed envelope and are mini poster size.

The steelbook. This is what you are buying this edition for. It's got a great paint job. It's embossed and it's double sided (melty looking Psycho mask on one side, melty looking Handsome Jack mask on the other). I don't know what art is inside as it comes sealed in plastic shrink wrap and I haven't opened it.

I'm not sure if I'm going to keep this edition, as it's not my sort of thing - personally just interested in the steel book.

Hope this info helped some of you make a decision as to whether or not you want it!

It's still available from Game, you'd just need someone to forward it as they won't ship international on account of the weight.

Guys, I figured out a fix for the limp weiner arms.
Just stick a small, tightly rolled piece of toilet paper (so that it looks like a tiny piece of rope) between the arm peg and the slot where the arm peg slides in on the figure. The piece of toilet paper basically reduces the size of the slot, creating a tight, snug fit for the arm peg. As a result, the arm fastens in place nice and tightly and it won't go limp. Play around with the thickness of the rope becuase if it's too thin, it won't work. I had to use two layers of toilet paper to get the right thickness.

Sadly though, I did discover another shortcoming while sliding the arms in using the toilet paper. The articulating joints on the arms are super weak and will basically go bad after just a little bit of use. Some of the articulating joints click in to place when you articulate them, but the plastic is so cheap that it stops clicking in to place after just a little bit of use, and will quickly stop working altogether. One of my points of articulation is pretty much already dead. :(

it's somewhat awful that considering the price you guys paid, that the CE had so many shortcomings =/

Luckily I didn't jump (due to price game only is £45 and CE is £290 with a difference of £245 for the remote control clap, steelbook no wait - ironpak [pretty sure advestised as steelbook] and art prints), but if I was in this situation I would :banghead:

Back in the day Gearbox wasn't so awful (BL1), then came DNF, Colonial Marines and that crap ton amount of DLCs for BL2 which I was always against (especially in a CE!):

Just a thought, but does anyone have a wifi number on their claptrap unti above 5k? Mine is in the 3k's, and I think if we can't find one above the 5k mark, that might be the "coa"/"number" that your edition is.
