Can I just check if I'm missing something here... Are these different to the blanks that were sold by Amazon Germany and is there something about them that makes them a prized collectors piece at $400?

Hey! Yeah, they are actually the same! I don't really know the full story myself, but it would seem that since they went out of stock 3 or 4 years ago the supply has been extremely low, hence the prices. I have not really seen them around too much except for a copy that sold for $300ish a year or so ago on eBay.
