I am pretty sure that this is not released until 2011, and seems to be listed on the main page twice - Once for 32 days and the other for 176 days, with the later being more accurate

yup... that was VERY old release date... it's been fixed.

the other version you saw was the US release.

so I got mine in today... I'm fairly certain that this is the largest box that a collectors edition has ever been released in... Rock Band notwithstanding.

Wow! Amazing photo's there, TS! Did you do these? Stunning work!

yes I did this... it's the 2nd game I've photographed using my new, larger, light-tent...

I had to build a bigger one for all these large box games that have come out

I've also photoed the new Mortal Kombat Tournament Edition and Killzone 3 Helghast Edition with this setup.

I have the MK Kollector's Edition as well as Fallout 3 Survival Edition to photo in it next.... I may go back and re-take photos of some other larger box games that didn't have photos that did them justice.

I didn't count but it's easily one of the largest art-books I've seen in a CE

you can get a good idea of the thickness in this photo (bottom right): http://collectorsedition.org/uploads/2010/08/c2_ne_ntsc_12.jpg

Another Crysis 2 LE I didn't know about until recently - I just discovered a photo on Flickr which shows an alternative Crysis 2 SteelBook for the PS3:

Seems that it was a German MediaMarkt exclusive.

Collect-That-Game also have it in their database:

http://www.collect-that-game.com/2011/04/05/crysis-2-limited-edition-media-markt-exklusiv-steelbook-ps3/

Unsure whether there is also a PC and X360 version to match, so perhaps someone here from Germany could do some research on the MediaMarkt site?

Wow, nice version which I would like to have in my collection. Will ask a friend who lives close to the border of Germany to take a look. :)

Upon doing more research into the German Crysis 2 SteelBook, I came across yet another exclusive - This time a French exclusive from Micromania.fr!

Pictures can be found on the Collect-That-Game website:

http://www.collect-that-game.com/2011/04/05/crysis-2-fr-import-micromania-fr-exklusiv-steelbook-ps3-xbox-360/

As far as I am aware, this was available for the PS3 and X360, although I can't seem to find out anything else about this release as it is no longer listed on the Micromania.fr website

Media Markt doesn´t have an online shop! And yes:The site isn´t very good. They don´t really show a lot of their products on the site, although its the biggest electronic store in Germany. I will go there in a few days and take a look. :thumb:

Really? In Holland there's an online Mediamarkt store where you can buy stuff. Mostly electronics. :)

Do you think that the Nano Edition is worth its $150 price?

twistedsymphony
05-08-2011, 11:11 PM
Honestly, CEs are only worth what people are willing to pay for them after release.
this is controled by 2 factors
1. the desirability of the game (usually based on the fan base and how much replay value the game has)
2. the quantity of the release (lower quantities = more valuable)

I can't comment on the desirability of Crysis, FPSs tend to be middle of the road between Sports titles (very low replay value) and RPGs (very high replay value)
the Nano edition was extremely limited, as it wasn't advertised at all and it was only available to those who explicitly pre-ordered it through the official online store.

with that said... a quick search on eBay shows that it's already getting $300-$450 on the open market... so I would say YES it was definitely worth the $150 price tag, and if you're somehow able to still get one for $150... BUY IT.

the bag don't excite me as much as the old design..but that statue looks good. :D
what size batteries does it use?

I think the nano edition is packaged in a hideously oversized box, it would be very hard over the years to keep that box in pristine condition, i know the backpack is large and actually its my favourite item in that edition but seriously where the hell would you put that box lol? the size probably puts some people off?

Anyway, considering what you get with the nano id say its worth the retail price, UK prices i believe were £119 @ Game.co.uk i cant remember for sure, put one on ebay now sealed and you should profit, taking ebay/paypal fees into account should you go that route, im not sure exactly where i stand on the type of return you could make, i dont think it will be massive, as always condition is paramount

yeah I wasn't too impressed with the bag, it is technically a LAPTOP bag and it might actually be useful for that task if it didn't look like it was made for a child. I would have thought something military styled would be much more appropriate than something that looks vaguely like part of a nanosuit (but mostly like something from GI-Joe, Transformers, or some other child's action show)

I think it took 3 AAA batteries, either that or 3 AA batteries, I don't really remember which... Batteries were not included.

If you look at the pictures I took it was shipped to me in a large cardboard box I only took it out of the box to do the photographs and immediately after it went right back in the box. I plan on keeping it in that box unless I can actually find a shelf large enough to display it. Similarly my DeadSpace Ultra Edition is in it's original shipping box too.

according to this here: http://www.mediamarkt.de/ent/games/story.php?id=2055
it was available for all 3 platforms.

***Added the French SteelBook Edition for 360 and PS3 ***

I couldn't find any evidence of a PC variant.
