I absolutely love it. But didnt that pendant already come with the collector's edition guide from tomb raider 2013? And the statue does look like the quality is very nice. The steelcase seems alright, I would have loved it if she lara had looked over a clif or anything like that but i just like scenery and all that x)

They're both really great CE items that I would've been thrilled to get had I not already acquired both of them (and one at a significant price comparatively).

Longer answer filled with unsolicited information:

Missed the ~$60 auction that ended recently due to stupidity on my part. Was already in contact with the seller though (who is an awesome guy and somewhat in the industry btw) and he went the extra mile to reach out to a colleague of his who also got one in the same manner. Anyway, I paid nearly twice the ebay auction for his colleague's copy as I had some extra $ and he jumped through a lot of hoops to get me it (and we skipped ebay at which point I was sure someone else would snatch it up again though he was going to list it for the relative price).

And yes you're right. I would have never paid that much had I known it was getting an almost identical version released in the CE that I was already paying for, but a deal is a deal and I'm glad to at least know I helped out a fellow collector financially and also have a great contact or two out of it.

I'm still hoping that perhaps there'll be some distinguishable mark inside the CE one or the copyright on the back of the dev one is different. It clearly won't be worth a TON to the average collector, but I'll be happy knowing it was originally 1 of only 400! Also, I can get it signed I guess at a later date and feel even better about that!

For the Collector's Edition I was honestly expecting the Play Arts Kai figure that was shown at this year's San Diego Comic Con. This is not what I was expecting. :-/

As it is, I don't understand the inclusion of the necklace. It was released as a bonus to the Tomb Raider Limited Edition Strategy Guide (as observed by Isauretjuh), which is still available on Amazon U.S.

I most likely would have enjoyed the statue more if the flare was lit. Without a flame it looks strange.

Ah, good thanks, heh, I remember you were kind enough to tell me before but I couldn't remember for the life of me and all their FAQ said when I inspected it last night is that preordering lets you "order & pay before a game is released", wich is about as clear as mud.

Similar thing happened to me. I preordered several days ago, but it does not show in my account. Just to be safe I ordered another when I preordered the Deus Ex collector's edition. That order shows up just fine. I'm going to email Square Enix to make sure I only get one copy.

At PAX here in Seattle over the weekend, the Microsoft booth had the game playable at about 20 XBOX One stations. The lines would fill up incredibly fast, they had two exclusive prints they were handing out to the first 100 fans each day. The prints were incredibly nice, very high quality, I was rather surprised to see how nice they were. They would run out generally quite fast each day. One print was given out on Friday/Sunday and the other print which was more limited I was told (with artwork by Geoff Darrow) was given out Saturday/Monday.

Rise of the Tomb Raiders is a timed console exclusive. It will not come to PS4 until a year after its XBox One release. :thumb:

There is no guarantee that Rise of the Tomb Raider will have a Collector's Edition for PC and PS4. Either Square Enix produces more of the statue and included goodies, repackages left over stock from the Xbox release, or ignores it completely.

Its a gamble. For all we know, the CE can be exclusive to Xbox only (since Microsoft helped in production), similar to how the Xbox version of the Witcher III: Wild Hunt CE is superior to the PlayStation's.

If you open your collections, you could purchase the CE and sell the game separately just to be safe. Wish I had better news for those who don't own or prefer the Xbox console.

It looks like a digipak design almost. If you preorder from them, apparently the case costs $29.99 because it splits it out on your receipt as such (to avoid people buying it for the bonus, taking it out, and returning it or something). I want it, but not $48 want it (w/GCU) (or $30 if I returned just the game or something). If the TIV on the game is high enough I might pick it up and trade the game back in, otherwise will just wait til it gets turned in and pick it up used.

That Best Buy slip looks really cool, but I ordered the collector's edition from Square Enix store. Maybe I'll pick this up, keep the bonus cover, and sell the game. I'm sure that's better than paying $29 for the cover. I sold the game from the last Tomb Raider CE and bought the Target steelbook.

The actual box is really heavy duty cardboard made to look like a wooden crate and the stuff inside is packaged with paper shreds. Very, very cool. The odds and ends are nice (especially that journal!) and the statue is quite detailed. Overall, very happy with it! One of the better editions I have purchased over the past couple years.

Yeah, that's kind of a strange one seeing as how it wasn't actually an "edition" but more of a pre-order bonus merchandise -- you can walk into most Best Buys and purchase the slip itself separately from an end-cap (or even order it online still I think). It was just a pre-order bonus but did not actually have the game or anything INSIDE it.
