There was talk that Blizzard may not make it f2p. The only reason it is now, is because they are in closed beta. Most company, out side of early access, dont usually charge for the beta.

Yeah, just saw that, thanks! Also, that kinda stinks that they went with Soldier76 - out of all the characters he's honestly one of the most boring looking ones. Was really hoping it'd be Reinhardt or Hanzo, but at the least Reaper, Pharah, or Widowmaker. Oh well, too early to complain I guess when I haven't even seen it yet -- just would've preferred one of those characters in statue form since they're more unique than "default soldier" guy :P

There have been some good ones lately (Ryu/Street Fighter and Agent 47/Hitman are the most recent that were really good for CE staues). Sadly that one does not look great, not sure of the sculpt and materials are bad but the "memorial statue" color they went for was just lazy. I knew it would not look that great just from the original undersized pictures.

The sad thing is the main character they push is Tracer and they did not use here becasue they made a separate statue of her a very long time ago.

I love the whole packaging, look great! All the contents was full of quality including the statue, personally. I think the statue was made of quality details and "looks" solid and even came with a separate base. Normally you'd get a low quality statue molded to the base and not worth the extra quid you pay for.

If I were a model painter, I'd paint that bad boy full of life. Yes, I reckon it was the wrong choice of character as well, Tracer or Winston would have been a fantastic choice imo.

Been awhile since I outright cancelled a pre-order completely, but I think Overwatch is on the chopping block at the moment... Lots of boxes in that unboxing though. Pretty sweet box art too.

Changed my original opinion on the statue - it looks similar but why did they decide to NOT paint it? It'll stick out like a sore thumb next to the Trace figure (or any other figure they might eventually make if Tracer sells well). Just a shame that they didn't go with the bright vivid colors that makes Overwatch different from most other FPS/MMOBAs on the consoles... just a shame.
