During today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD was announced for Wii U with a release date of March 4, 2016.

The HD port of Twilight Princess was developed in co-operation with Australia-based developer Tantalus. Nintendo showed gameplay footage that shuffled between different story beats, like when Link meets Zelda, and the hero riding Epona through Hyrule Field. The gameplay shown in the brief trailer did not appear to support Wii remote motion controls.

Nintendo also revealed a new amiibo figure of Wolf Link, which the company will release alongside the HD port, and as part of a special bundle that comes with an official soundtrack. Data saved on the Wolf Link amiibo will transfer over to The Legend of Zelda for Wii U.

The Wolf Link amiibo goes on sale in Japan on March 10.

Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will also support the five previously released figures from the Smash Bros. amiibo series: Link, Toon Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, and Shiek.

Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Amie said Zelda: Twilight Princess HD has some other unique features, but the company would go into further detail about them at a later date.

Thank U for the tip Iwatasan ;)...by the way..i personally think this is the best boxart design i've seen on a Wii U game thus far...i hope it will be more like Mario Party 10 bundles when it comes to availability LOL and not like the Majoras Mask 3DS skull kid figurine bundle..which was next to impossible it seemed.

Got my 2 copies at Best Buy, not sure how long it took them to sell out, but there was a one per order limit (or was it one per customer?). I bought one with my account and one with my girlfriend's account.

Amazon never packages my stuff carefully, so I figured it was worth it to pick these up in store somewhere in order to get them in the best condition possible. Now I just have to hope Best Buy didn't oversell these like they did with the Super Smash Bros. bundle.

Also I'm glad it looks like our forum's Zelda collectors all got one this time! But post here if you didn't, and I'll add you to my list of people to PM next time there's a special edition Zelda release. :beer:

I'd bet it'll be the same size as Europe's special editions for Hyrule Warriors, Mario Kart 8, The Wind Waker HD, etc., so I don't think it's an unusual size for Europe. But why is Europe's box size for Nintendo special editions bigger than the rest of the world's?

Well that was a pain in the ass!

Tried to order from GS but when confirming payment method, apparently the details don't match their records even though it's the same card I've used on there for years. Nevermind I thought, I'll enter another card, these are also incorrect. I better ring the bank and tell them GS have decided all my cards are wrong so I need new ones. How about trusty Paypal, surely that'll work, erm no. I just get a blank page with the PayPal logo and return to GS text.

Finally ordered it as a guest using my GF's email and paid with the same card it said was incorrect 5 minutes earlier :think:

There is a lot of spare room in these edition with amiibo.. But they keep same size for it all.. So for collector that keep the box I guess it is nice that always same size box..

But yeah when you open one up here with an amiibo there is lot of wasted room :p
