A fake photoshopped image of a proposed FFVII CE with a limited edition PS4. Can't understand why choosing a metal sleeve? What are those things exactly? are they becoming popular or something?
However, this could be an amazing steelbook design though.

Got excited for nothing there for a moment. Please leave this thread for genuine steels :l

Definitely a fake -- it'd need to be 3 different steels most likely as they've confirmed its going to be an episodic remake... :( :banghead:

I am sorry. I want this thread to be for genuine steels too...but this was so good to ignore  some sites reported it as a genuine SquareEnix CE not knowing that it was a fake.
I think we should have a thread for proposed designs of steels though

I really have no idea... I think some number cruncher somewhere must've told them they could make more money doing it that way and by spreading the development costs across fiscal periods or something, but I went from "THIS IS SOME OF THE BEST NEWS EVER- HYPE!" to "meh, guess I'll wait until there's a final 'bundle' or something". Not really sure why, I'm just totally turned off by things like that and ESPECIALLY when its as long of a desired remake for as big of a game as FF7.

For why this is done

and

It means instead of concluding in one entry, multiple entries are being considered in development. Each entry will have its own unique story. As a gaming experience, each entry will have the volume of content equal to a full-sized game.

This also sums it up nicely

http://www.dualshockers.com/2015/12/07/its-too-early-to-freak-out-for-final-fantasy-vii-remakes-multi-part-nature/

The game will be pushed out quicker and I suppose you won't have to wait for a game for years to release with content cut. So take your poison. Pricing wise hopefully it be something like buy first and rest for free when released (like the telltale games). This makes sense has of course this gives them development funds in advance so obviously more stuff could be added in later episodes.
