WTB: Uncharted PAX 2007 Promo Ring

Hi guys,

New member here, so first of all sorry to just bump directly into this thread. Been a gamer and collector for more than 15 years now. However sold pretty much everything a few years back and now trying to get back in the game :lol:

Anyhow, as the title says I'm looking for the rare Uncharted promo ring as seen here:

Don't know if anyone saw it, but actually one in good condition sold for around $50 half a year back, seller only shipped to UK though. A shame I hadn't discovered this site at the time, could probably have gotten help from an UK member.

Last one that sold on ebay sold for $240, was tapped at the moment so had to pass though.

$50!? You gotta be kidding me. If I remember correctly the one on eBay was still sealed (ring only). First time I've seen it up for sale like that.

To be honest, I expected more Uncharted treasures to hit eBay with the recent release of "A Thief's End". I'll just keep on hunting :pirate:

Yeah I was so damn angry that I didn't live in UK, hahah.

A lot of press kits and other stuff have surfaced on ebay now so hopefully some rings will surface too :banana:

Sold mine a month or so back for 300. It was missing the string for the necklace and some of the foam inserts. Basically just the ring and empty box. Plus the ring was definitely in used condition with dings and scrapes aplenty. Only paid 50 bucks for it so I'm happy. :)

The geek fuel one is exactly the same as the one in U3 CE. At least it looks and feels the same to me.

Do you have all the rings? If so can you compare the geek fuel/U3 ring with the pax 2007 ring and the #/1000 ring?

Looks like they took the U3 CE and stuck it in a fancy box...I guess it's a nicer presentation. The rings seem totally different PAX to CE/GF, be interested to hear a detailed comparison from anyone who has both ?

Yes I have all of them. The one sold in gear store (the #/1000 one) is definitely the best in every aspect - the box, the quality, and the material of the ring.

The geek fuel/U3 CE one is also pretty good, it has a nicer box than the PAX one, and the ring itself looks and feels better than the PAX one.

Tbh I don't like the PAX one. It's bulky and the box isn't custom made. Gary from Sony (who was in charge of making it) said the box was "off the shelf", in my understanding, they bought the box in stores and put the ring it in. The only thing great about the PAX ring is that it's pretty rare and limited.

Here are pics of all of them. I sold the gear store ring I opened and kept a sealed one, and I don't want to open it, so I can't put them side by side and take pics.

Would you mind updating with a note as to which is which? I'm assuming
the 2nd pic is geek fuel (which has the same ring as U3 CE) and the 3rd picture is PAX - so what is the first one?

edit, having re-read I assume the first picture is the gear store (1 of 1000) - so sorry to ask a stupid question, but what's the story behind the rings?

I remember the UC3 CE ring had a very cheap feel to it. I even thought it was plastic :rotf: Maybe I was mistaken. Does anybody know if the PAX ring is also made in China like the rest of the lot.

BTW, I'm still looking for the PAX ring.
