Yeah, that is a major downside. I guess they tried to appease us with the nifty Sega cartridge... its sorta working for me though. I'll likely get it. I've just had to keep myself "in check" from going all Sonic crazy though and snagging the F4F Sonic Statues and such... this does the job nicely to feed that urge though! :thumb:

the game download card looks rather small..like a business card, i thought at least it would be lenticular or made from like a thin steel plate or something and big a bit bigger actually...just want a physical release version,..i know limited run games, did tweet out to sega that there willing to help sega out for a limited run of a physical version of the game but they got no response back as of yet from sega.

It has been confirmed that there won't be a PAL version, sadly. Considering how popular SEGA was in Europe, especially Master System and Mega Drive, this makes little sense.

but on the official SEGA PAL twitter account...SEGA actually did a survey like a poll to ask if EUROPE UK fans would be interested in a collectors edition? it was a resounding YES! but all has been quiet since then..i was just hoping PAL would get a variant or something different like the game in physical format ..it woud be neat to have extra options.

I remember reading in Eurogamer that they confirmed there wouldn't be a PAL release. But you never know, these companies easily change their minds.

You probably won't get an answer. Never saw that person respond to anything. My guess: LAURA used that picture as an excuse to post affiliate links for the Collector's Edition (and receive a small commission fee with every purchase).

Ayiu..thank you for chiming in...as far as my knowledge this collectors edition is NOT amazon exclusive at least in North America..but I understand Ayiu what you are trying to say...i know there is a substantial cry to SEGA for giving us a physical release, even limited run games company has tweeted to SEGA they would be eager to release it on their behalf..but SEGA is "tone deaf" to the demand...if SHOVEL KNIGHT can go physical, so can SONIC MANIA..these games can thrive on physical..i think demand is there for SONIC MANIA physical copies.
