Looks nice too. Hope just down to gameplay. To me they fucked up with the last dlc but they may as well just tell us about the season pass that well have to buy later. Why don't they just cut some of the crap in these CEs and give us the full game.

I can hardly think of any AAA games without a season pass nowadays. Even Zelda is getting one.

I played Shadow of Mordor and I loved the game, never tried the DLC so I'm not sure if they were good or bad.

I'm willing to pay for season passes as long as they are under 25 and I'm really interested in the game.

Haha yeah expensive CEs always come down to a lower price with shipping from amazon EU than the price people in EU get.

I ordered one from GS before I ordered it from Amazon UK, and total with tax and shipping was $330, which is $110 more expensive than Amazon UK

That's quite a chunk, one of the few positives about Amazon as not all retailers take the tax off.

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year $19 on Amazon to date one of the best PS4 games I have played. Nice find on AUK, $299 GameStop and god knows what EBGames will charge here in Australia.

True, every time I order from GAME UK I'm charged for VAT. I ordered a lot of stuff from Amazon.de, as they get most of the CEs and take off the tax.

PC games are usually cheaper because PC games have no resell value. Consoles games can be traded-in / sell on ebay while cd keys are one off use.

The picture says bronze which would be awesome and definitely worth the price but chances are that could just mean bronze-effect like The Elder Scrolls Online was.

:/ PC is not a free platform. It's a Microsoft platform too. You have to pay to develop with directx because it is Microsoft technologies.

That is why AMD is trying to break the monopoly by introducing Vulcan which is free.

I am sorry, but that is not true. You don't have to pay to develop with DirectX.
The Vulkan API is being developed mainly because of the DirectX flaws and to prevent MS monopoly by using only their OS. With Vulkan you can play the games on other OS too

You are right my mistake there. I remembered reading somewhere long ago when Vulcan was coming that I was to break directx monopoly for various reasons.

But still it is not really cheaper because it is a free platform though.

Just a heads-up in case it's missed but that's £50 more than when it was first available.

It was £200 before it sold out and now they have more it's £250 for some reason. (I was sure £200 was the actual RRP before, unless I'm mistaken.)

Yeah, sorry for the misunderstanding, I don't mean that existing preorders will rise in price, I just meant that such a substantial price increase was surprising and also in case anyone blindly ordered thinking it was still £200 then they might have a bit of a shock when they realise.

b1rk

To be honest I pre-ordered it yesterday at the current price (did not know about the lower initial price) as I was watching this to be available for pre-order again (I missed the first batch). I was happy I did catch one.

Now knowing of a lower initial price I am not so happy anymore and this is what my previous question related to - shouldn't Amazon apply on pre-orders the price guarantee? I swear I read somewhere at Amazon that they have price guarantee rule in case the item will rise on price during pre-orders until the release date.

Found it:

Pre-order Price Guarantee: order now and if the Amazon.co.uk price decreases between the time you place your order and the release date, you'll be charged the lowest price. Here's how (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/promotions/details/popup/A3J5QHKIIABXKU) (terms and conditions apply)

Which means only if the price decreases from the time my order was placed until the release date I will be guaranteed the lowest price if I understood correctly. So I have to rely on that the price will decrease again starting now till the release date

Yeah, basically if I order something at price X but between then and release the price goes to X+10 I'll still only pay X as that's what I ordered it at.

However, I preorder at price X and the price drops to X-10, I'll then pay X-10 when it releases.

I've managed to get some good prices before with that where they've dropped the price for maybe even only a couple of hours but I still get charged the lowest price it's been.

Gamestop posted an unboxing on Facebook last night. Link. (https://www.facebook.com/GameStop/videos/1692166470803272/)

Seriously thinking of cancelling after seeing it to be honest.

It looks kind of cool but in person it might be a bit of an ugly overpoweringly large lump of painted bronze plastic for such a relatively big price.

Don't know how many statues have gone the painted bronze look and actually looked decent in person but from my experience it's not many.

DId you cancel? I received it this week and I pretty much can confirm your concern. The statue is cool but not on level of the awesome polystone variety like my Creed collection. It is sort of cheapish floppy vinyl/plastic painted with bronze finish. Cool for my son's room but not $300 worth of cool. The lithos are nice and the steelbook is awesome but the goofy oversize ring thing is also cheapish plastic with hollow flat backside and three small magnets glued into back so it can be chill fridge deco or something. All in all probably feel better if it were $200 or less.

I saw unboxing from a EU Youtuber who apparently got a special limited to 100 version which had bigger statue (18" vs. 12") and the thing actually had an LCD screen with preprogrammed Orc talking to him. Not sure if that is a pres promo/dev gift type of thing or if that statue is high quality.

Cheers - JC

OH - and the Box is WAY TOO BIG for what's inside. Box graphics are cool but inside is basically massive hunk of Styro.

Gunmaster51
10-14-2017, 07:12 AM
Yeah, I had this on pre-order but decided to cancel at the last minute. Wasn't a fan of the statue. I would've still pulled the trigger if it had a real steelbook instead of a metalpak, but sadly that wasn't the case.

Amazon.ca had the gold metalpak edition on sale for $89, so I just stuck with that.

Vlad

DId you cancel?

Yeah, my gut instinct was screaming too loudly at me to ignore on this one.

On top of that I wasn't happy with all the lootbox crap and didn't feel comfortable supporting that in a single player game.

Sorry to hear that it isn't great though.

xcodef

Yeah, not happy with that one either.... the quality looks meh at its best (probably not as bad as the Resident evil 7 one but still meh). Oh well, better learn now and move on... The main problem is that most of these collector editions ran out pretty fast and then there is not much time to cancel preorders... that being said, I guess it is a good idea to keep an eye on the reviews in order to get a chance of cancel it on time? haha

I am sort of new to the forum, so I am not sure if it is in place already, but would be nice to post here links to the reviews as soon as you find one?

I think most of the time people generally do but for an actual review of the editions the problem can be that often you'll only find them from people after the game's come out.

If we're lucky we might get some kind of early unboxing.
