Other version is the collector edition ( for the moment it's only US Collector available on amazon.com ) but if i have the correct informations there is no steelbook in this CE

99.9% sure that GEO steelbook will be different

your right Spect3r..on closer examination the mock up for the GEO JAPAN steelbook design indeed is different...i am going to try to hunt down both of these steelbook variants..i think both look pretty stellar!!

The name of this edition is " Deluxe Steelbook Edition " so i think that you will have the steelbook xD ^^

In Belgium ( MediaMarkt ) the Deluxe wear this name and the game is directly in the steelbook ... Like Resident Evil 2

The Steelbook is from the " DELUXE STEELBOOK EDITION " available in every shops from Belgium and France ... you can order the deluxe steelbook version on amazon France

Thank you for the heads up on the new design. For a moment I was a bit angry to be honest. I bought the japanese steelbook, because I had the impression GEO gets the back shot version and the west would be getting the front shot.
But luckily, GEO has the DMC5 Logo on it and is a bit different in Color. (Which I prefer)

With that being said, I had hoped for the west steelbook to have the DMC5 logo on it's front shot as well, so I could display them nicely side by side. But I think I'll just grab two of the west steels now. (Once they get cheaper :P )

Guys, I need some advice from our bad ass die hard veteran collectors.

I'm trying to figure out a way to get my hands on that steelbook. (The slipcover would be a neat bonus)
One way would be, to buy it for 70€ and sell the game. But selling it without an original box drops it hard in value I assume.
Way two would be to wait and acquire it from eBay as soon as someone sells it stand alone. Downside here would be, it's probably not gonna go under 20€ (more likely 30€+) and it may have scratches etc.

I really don't know how I should handle this in order to get it as cheap as possible.
Any advices or ideas?:think:

P.S.: The version for 60€ I posted above isn't really an option for me. Since it doesn't have the Germany USK seal (youth protection), eBay wouldn't let me sell the game. (…I know...)

I really love DMC, but I think I've spent enough money on steelbooks for a while. And unlike with RE2, I only want all steels and be done with it.

I think most EU version have an english option. Can't think of any game recently that didn't have one here in Germany.

Something goes wrong these days with SteelBooks overall. DOA has cheap painting Dirt Rally 2.0 too FIFA 19 also (the US one) the same, my friend of mine received a copy of NBA2K19 Steel with dents now this!

There are 2 different things here:

1) Cheap painting/scratch easily, etc. These are production side problems.
It may be that the companies ordered cheap steelbooks, or it can be that overproduction is taking a toll on Scanovo quality in general. Or maybe both.

2) Dents, etc. That is because of shipping, not because of production.

Generally agree if it's a steelbook shipping separate. But I've had steels within a CE damaged - and there's no way it could have happened during shipping.

10 years ago STEELBOOK was more akin to a "boutique" item..a luxury if you will...a rare sight in stores..and these days STEELBOOK are stacked ceiling high at thrifty stores..no more than throw away packaging in some people eyes.
