Ok. It is too soon to create a separate list but. First of all can anyone make comparison photo of this format with 3Ds size steelbook (G3)? People keep saying that Pokemon Sun Fan Edition is also mini steelbook but to me it seems like G3.

does it hold a game disc inside? or is it too small to accommodate the "CD/DVD" format?..my personal guess is with the upcoming next gen games boxes..they will "shrink" even more in size then today's G2 standard..to help the companies cut down on costs, and reduce environmental wastage...plus the focus tilt will be on digital downloads and 5G speeds..and prioritizing less physical media in stores.

Agreed. These 'G5' cases are just big enough to fit the digitial download card - this is the first step to pushing you to all digital. When people get tired of buying just cards with codes and buy online from the MS/PS stores, then the digital conversion is complete.

Are you sure that's a G5? The G5 mini ones seem to be more of a square. THe one in that pic seems to have sides that are longer than the top/bottom, and in comparisson it looks to be the same size as the Xbox/PS game case in the same pic.

These big conglomerates are always looking to cut down on costs and to maximize profits..I’m confident the “next gen” will introduce smaller sized game disc packaging and marketing will tell us it’s for “saving the planet” the real reason will be less costs involved for steelbook and the game manufacturers for cutting back on sourcing and raw materials. I remember when steelbook admitted they were lobbying hard to become standard default packaging trying to convince publishers that physical media sales would increase if every case was a steelbook!..that’s Scanavo stated goal for steelbook! I just hope when “next gen” rolls out that everyone else doesn’t switch over to ugly generic Nintendo switch game type spines fonts so when your displaying the games on a shelf lined up; they have a dull look to them! Compared to the colorful vibrant spines most Wii U games had!

the Scanavo marketing team will always keep saying G2 because if they went to G3, G4 etc it would make the Blu Ray sized steelbook appear like a "dated" design, and it's just marketing speak..they want all of their current line to feel fresh and relevant.

Gamestop has them in store only. Anybody know how much they cost? I see them on eBay for much less than the prices on Gamestop.com so I'm wondering if these prices are not accurate. FIFA 21 is listed at $100. Does it really cost that much?

Thanks. I can't see the gamestop ones because of geo restrictions. The only one I'm interested is the Forza one if it's a different design from the G2 steelbook. Will keep an eye on it on ebay.
