They're boasting $20 worth of additional content including:
A Secret bonus playable character with missions
downloadable soundtrack
exclusive in-game digital armory with 4 weapons
Apostates' courage
Seeker's Bulwark
Adder of Antiva
Might of the Sten
This will be a "First Edition" release meaning anyone who pre-orders (http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Age-2-Xbox-360/dp/B003UFAZKW/Aurobius-20) before the January 11th release date will automatically get this CE at the cost of the regular edition game. No word on whether Europe will be getting this.... View this article on the HomePage. (http://collectorsedition.org/3528/dragon-age-ii-bioware-signature-edition-announced)

Oh great another Collector's Edition with just DLC codes,
The only way this could be worse, is if the DLC was on the disc and you us the code to unlock it. I.e. Bioshock

DLC "soundtracks" particularly piss me off... like I want to sit in front of my console and listen to the damn soundtrack...
however, you can't really complain because this is a essentially a free upgrade, and it's semi-rare since it's pre-order only.

I'm with you on this, I don't kow anyone that listens to music on their PS3, only for about 2-3 minutes or for slideshows.
semi-rare since it's pre-order only
Guess this is true, hope they do the same in the PAL regions.

Arg...not another DLC exclusive content download. I am going to skip this. Beside the DLC soundtrack can be downloaded for free.

Color me interested. I mean, if there is no true DA2 CE, then I will certainly procure this one.

The rarest item will be the Collector's edition guide, the first one is worth a good £60-70 in sealed condition.

My only problem with this edition is that there are no real discerning features about DA 2 Signature Edition, because the "bonus content" will most probably be widely available later on via DLC. What we're looking at here is just something with an alternate slip cover. Not impressive in the least. Still, I have preordered this, in any event.

EA and Bio ware have announced that any pre-order made after the 11 Jan 2011 will not get the Signature edition.
So get your order in today ASAP.
This is a worldwide not just PAL.

^ thats because the game comes out tomorrow... you can't pre-order after it's been released

LOL - The game comes out on the 11 of March here (http://www.game.co.uk/Xbox360/RolePlaying/~r352042/Dragon-Age-2-Bioware-Signature-Edition/). The cut off time it still tomorrow for PAL regions

gurpswoo1 is correct. Dragon Age 2 comes out in March, but for some odd reason, preorders for the Signature Edition are cut off here in early January.
*sigh* EA, you're just so-
twistedsymphony

ok that makes a little more sense then... I wonder why they cut it off so early for PAL?

It's pretty much the same for the NTSC region, just a difference of a few days, I think. Ostensibly, they want to 'reward' loyal fans, but it seems to be a ploy to increase pre-order numbers if you ask me. Just look at Amazon.com's bestseller rankings: Dragon Age 2 Signature Edition shot up to near top of the list the last few days.

I don't think i'll waste my time or money with this, like all of the other EA LE's being released lately. DLC is worthless to a collector in my opinion, and a complete lack of effort on EA's part. They could have put more effort into this i'm afraid
So I told them so on Twitter!
Dragon Age II (Bioware Signature Edition) is yet another pointless LE published by @EA! DLC is worthless to video game collector's! FAIL!

Don't forget the silver foil front cover aswell. Aside from that, it worthless.
Get the Collector's edition guide, the last one sold out before launch in the UK. Highly desirable.

I think I'll wait for the Ultimate Edition with the extra expansion that is no doubt being worked on already. :P

LOL - Knowing EA the content is already on the disc and all you need is 20KB download to unlock it.

Well, unless they release another disc like with Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening.

Tell them then!
I often tell EA what I think of them via Twitter:
Note to @EA regarding DLC soundtracks - Stop being so tight & give us an actual CD we can listen to! What good is DLC to a collector?
Not sure if they read it, or whether they actually care, but makes me feel better to speak my mind! ;)

Well, it depends on if you plan on playing Dragon Age II on its release. I do, so I went ahead an ordered this 'signature' edition because it costs the same as a standard new game. I highly doubt it will be worth anything in the future, because as was mentioned before, all DLC included will be available sooner or later.

Dragon Age Origins CE is has only increased since it's release...
RPG CEs tend hold and increase in value better than any other genre....
I neglected to pre-order the original Dragon Age CE and almost ended up not being able to get it...I also neglected to buy Demon's Souls CE and I still regret that decision.
I made a promise to not ever skip an RPG CE from here on out...
Mandingo
01-14-2011, 04:03 PM
Absolutely, it has something to do with the hardcore nature of RPG fans. Even if you look at non-CE's, the RPG genre has several games that now fetch ridiculous prices like Valkyrie Profile and Suikoden II. So yeah, RPG collectors editions usually equal a solid investment. (other than exceptions like the Fable II LE)
gurpswoo1
01-14-2011, 04:37 PM
Yep RPG have a loyal fan based, unlike FPS that are forgotten as soon as the next one is out.
I wished I had Final Fantasy 7 still sealed know, what a game that was.
I agree with Mandingo, It's worth gettting as it's the same price as the normal version, unless of course you are waiting for the game to drop in price.

I may keep my Signature edition sealed for a few months, just to see how the market reacts...
gurpswoo1

I would, the price will rocket in the last 2-3 weeks before release as the panic kicks in for thoses who didn't pre-order it.

Looks like I was right about the price increase,
http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=dragon+age+signature+edition+&_cqr=true&_nkwusc=dragone+age+signature+edition&_rdc=1
It happening here in the UK as well, the PS3 version recently sold for £70/$100
Even though the edition is pretty poor, I guess it will be worth something in the future.

Gamestop.com now has some Signature Editions available; I suppose there were some gamers that cancelled their Signature Edition orders before the release date, which would explain why they are in-stock suddenly.

Unboxing video; not much to see here, really. Just an alternate cover with some DLC codes printed on an insert.
Just got my copy minutes ago, it looks nice. Black and silver is a great color combination.

Update - The links posted above are now sold out. wow, that was fast..
However, with Gamestop's website, you can do a local search to see if perhaps a store near you carries a copy or two.

The DLC has an expiry date. I will wait until EA come up with the ultimate edition just like the original Dragon Age.

Yeah it's pretty much guaranteed to be one, but this first print edition will be worth so much more than the ultimate edition.
