Hello everyone,
I live in Cape Town, South Africa and I've only recently started my collection. Unfortunately it is sometimes difficult to get the rare collector's edition because most of the people on eBay does not ship to South Africa and we do not have awesome stores like you guys have that stock these collector's editions. It is very difficult to get collector's edition because sometimes our gaming stores does not even get them. Which is a pity because I really like collecting them.

Here is pictures of my collections:

I also have a Youtube channel where I post videos of unboxing my collector's edition. You can check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheRedTieGuy?feature=mhum#p/u

I only recently started the channel but I'll be uploading a lot more. Check it out and leave me comments if you want.

Soon I'll be getting more collector's edition.

Good collection! And welcome to the forums. :) I'll be sure to keep up with your unboxing videos. I have a real fascination with unboxing vids, for whatever reason. Even if I own the item being unboxed.

Nice collections and I see you have assassin's creed 1 collector's edition. I'm still trying to get that one aswell as Fallout 3 Collector's edition, wich I has those.

I completely understand your issues with importing games to South Africa, it seems almost all ebay selling guides recommends not selling goods there because of the high level of fraud in past.

Certain stores in the UK will export to South Africa. GAME will do that for very little money. Could also try Play-asia or yes-asia which will export NTSC USA games aswell. Forget forwarding agents, they are the worst for Collector's edition games.

:welcome:

I'm very interested to know more about the video game "situation" in that part of the world...

I mean I'm familiar with the USA, the UK, and Japan and I have some insight into Canada, Western Europe and Australia... but the rest of the world is a big ??? in terms of what games they have access to, what kind of region locking they have etc.

I noticed most of your games look like they came from Europe, is that what they sell in South Africa or is that just what is easiest to import?

Well sometime they (the gaming stores) announce games up for pre-oreder, even the collector's editions. But closer to the time, they just announce that they won't release the collector's edition anymore. Like Resident Evil 5. I pre-ordered the collector's edition with the bag and figurine. Closer to the time they announced that they are not getting that anymore. Which really sucks.

It is also difficult to get items from eBay since we don't use paypal. I use a website called bidorbuy.co.za and take2.co.za
Yes, we use the Europe editions.

Edit:

My newest item:
