Hello, all. My name is Matt...I've been collecting games for a while now (about 8 years). I tend to prefer RPGs for my collection, including collector's editions (albeit not limited to collector's editions). Some of you may have seen a user with a similar username around the internet...I am mb7241 at whichever forum I visit (NintendoAge, AtariAge, CAG, GameTZ, PlayStationCollecting, GameSniped, etc.).

About my collection: I'd post pics of it all, but I do not have the pics handy (and it's almost time for me to go to sleep for the night, heh :) ). Counting extras, I have about 160 systems and 2000 games, a bit NES-heavy, as I was recently a NES collector for three years. However, earlier in 2010 I quit collecting NES to focus more on RPGs, which I enjoy more. The core of my collection reflects this: while I do have about 20-30 NES games in there, most of what are in there are RPGs. The rest of the core collection is a handful of SNES games, a few N64 games, about 70-80 PlayStation games (including a couple collector's editions and about 20 imports), about 130 PS2 games (of which about 8 or 10 are collector's editions (some of those are factory-sealed, including an NTSC-US Ar Tonelico Limited Edition) and about 20-30 are imports (including a factory-sealed NTSC-J Xenogears Limited Edition and a very nice NTSC-J Valkyrie Profile 2: Artifact Box).

Of course, the collection is not complete, and that is why I'm here. I'm in the process of working on my master shopping list. When it's done, I'll post a "most wanted" selection of items contained therein. For now, my main want is actually a Korean import...I'll post that up shortly.

Anyway, sorry for the wall of text, but I hope to be here for a great long while. I'll see you around the forums :) .

Welcome

You have a very nice collection and looking forward to some pictures.

What is it that you like about RPGs as oppose to other types of games? I love RPG's aswell, my first ever being Final Fantasy 7. It was the story that made it one of the best for me.

o_O Heh...whoops...I meant Xenosaga Limited Edition. But it is, at least, factory-sealed :) . (It was 3-something in the morning here when I typed that...gimme a break :P .).

I love games that have a story. If a game doesn't have at least a reasonably good storyline, I tend to lose interest in it quickly. The first RPG to which I was exposed was the original Dragon Warrior for NES. The first I actually played, however, was Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest for SNES. It was a decent game, for the few minutes I played of it back then (it was fairly new at the time, and I had to let others take their turn at playing the games). About a year later, I picked up an issue of Nintendo Power, and inside of it was a "strategy guide" of sorts for the second half of Lufia II for SNES. I wanted that game, so I did what any 10-year-old could afford to do...I rented it several times :P . It blew my mind. Ever since then, I've always been an RPG fan.

Oh, OK. I thought you may have been referring to the Xenogears Millennium edition:

But the Xenosaga limited edition is spiffy as well.
