Just a quick question for you guys: I have the Epic Edition on pre-order, but I'm unsure whether it inclludes the SteelBook Edition or the Limited Edition version of the game as a basis. I would like to think that it includes all of the above, but I have a sneaky suspicion that it includes only the middle-tier Limited Edition - No SteelBook

Can somebody please confirm or deny whether the Epic Edition includes a SteelBook. Some form of citation would be appreciated

If it is confirmed that it doesn't come with a SteelBook, then I will have to order this separately, but don't want to be spending all that money if it's already part of an edition I am already receiving

Sorry for that. In Australia which in assumption the same as UK Epic Edition does include only Collectors. You could always pre order and cancel it if steelbook is in Epic

Future Shop claimed their MK steelbook was exclusive as well. I don't blame them, its exclusive them in all of North America so that's pretty exclusive.

None of their steelbooks so far have had the console tag on it, I'm guessing the picture is accurate as it was probably done up by Scanavo.

I was at my local GameStop yesterday picking up the Epic Edition. They actually STILL had a brand new Halo 3 Legendary Edition for sale behind the counter :lol:

Also they had a literal WALL of Duke Nukem Forever Balls of Steel Editions... there must have been 30 or 40 of them.

Well, if it's any consolation a close friend of mine is a HUGE Gears of War fan... He wanted to pre-order the Limited Edition but it was sold out....

I'm not sure whether the Epic Edition was over produced or not... but past gears titles weren't too bad, they seemed to only make enough to cover pre-orders and then a little more.

but I'll be pissed if Halo Reach: Limited Edition (saw it recently for 17-20GBP) situation happens all over again and of course, how can we forget the huge Killzone 3 Helghast Edition (100-ish ---> 40-ish in just a week or two).

And mind you, I'm not a collector like most of you here, I open and play my LEs/CEs, I can only only imagine how enraged all the "sealed only" folks get when stuff like I described above happens.

This never actually crossed my mind but now that somebody mentions it, it does seem odd that I don't think any edition came with a second disc.

Normal - No
Steelbook - No
Limited - No
Epic - No

The Reason I ask is because I got a jumbo Gears of war steelbook (though it was the standard steelbook I ordered) to hold all three games, it has places for 6 discs.

I know they sold original soundtracks for each game, are you thinking that it should the three standard copies of the game and 3 soundtracks?

Maybe... So that they could all be kept together, but again, that's only a guess - but it seems like the only possible/logical explanation at this point, unless there is a second disc in any of the cases anyway - but yeah, if they all only come with one disc, then that's probably the reason :) xx

Both Gears1 and Gears2 were re-released as 2-disc editions, where the 2nd disc held the DLC expansions.

it's possible that the 6th slot is for a potential gears of war 3 expansion disc.

of course the CE for each game also had 2 discs, with the 2nd disc housing behind the scenes content.

What's more the Steel book was released in Germany where there is no official release of the soundtracks.
