Upon further inspection, this figurine included looks to be more than a simple toy. It stands 10" tall apparently (I don't do the metric system), and Zavvi has it priced at £99.85! Youch!

Much better than the "Day One" Augmented Edition which was previously advertised had the game been released when it was supposed to have been...

I like this far better though, and it has convinced me to make the effort, whereas before I was happy to let this one slide by. No word whether the figure will come in the box with the game, or whether it'll be just loosely bundled alongside it for those who pre-order, but this is worth it simply because the game is numbered!

Any news which UK retailers are stocking it, or whether it'll be exclusive to one or another?

Wonder how limited this release really is considering other retailers are getting this.

Also Crysis Nano edition cost £119 in the UK. Every other country got it cheaper than us, well with the exception of Australia.

I agree the price is far too high, but then I also think the Augmented Edition is expensive for what it is.

Also as it's a numbered release expect it to be far more limited than the Augmented version.

Just having a numbered release makes it a first buy for me.

I'm not that kind of a collector. I only buy LE/CE that I find interesting (notably with some extra content, making of videos, artbook, etc.), but I don't keep them sealed, look for future resale value, etc.
I don't think that Augmented ed. is that expensive (at least @ shopto where my preorder stands).

Don't get me wrong - I agree with you on content and price. It's just a preventative measure to ensure I'm not force to pay double after release on eBay.

at £49.99 that's a good price, but for those lucky few who pre-ordered early at GAME will get it at £39.99 because of the pre-order price promise. Glad I got mine on order.

I probably should of mentioned I was talking about the PC version and not the console one.

Collectors has all the stuff the Augmented edition has plus the figure of Jensen and numbered CE packaging.

Ordered 3 collector's editions from them in the past, one arrived damaged, another went missing and took 3 months before I got a letter from royal mail asking if the item still missing, the last one was a different country version not officially release here.

I personally think they are not worth it, but then with a low price the risk might be worth it.

Others have had better experiences than me of course, so maybe not as bad as I think.

Hopefully some others will give their opinion on the store.

Ahh nice site, thanks for sharing. Checked it out for The Witcher 2 and it seems Shopto is the cheapest place, so ill probably be keeping my pre-order and hope for the best. Talking of ridiculous prices, Deus ex: HR Augmented for £60 on Play.com for PC when its like 37.99-40.00 everywhere else ^^.

Shopto are ok have bought loads from them in the past and they have been generally pretty good ,only had one damaged item,they don,t have a very good returns service as regards to larger items being collected .There are better online suppliers out there and there are a lot worse ,so i think you should be ok I have pre ordered this from them as well.

I'm from Canada and just tried to import the Xbox 360 CE from Shopto.net. They do not ship outside EU due to the weight and value of the collectors edition (all platforms). My next try will be Game but the CE package will likely be close to or over 1 Kg. Any suggestions? Are there package forwarding services in the UK?

Yes there are forwarders, but are very expensive and will not repack, just forward. Don't bother as you will also still pay Taxes on arrival.

Personally I would put a request in the wanted section for someone to forward a copy for you. see if any one bites.

Alternatively, I know Zavvi will export to Canada, also I think HMV will also export. Give them a try.

I recently got inFamous 2 Hero Ed and Crysis 2 Nano Ed from there and the writing on the items were in German.

It doesn't really bother me, but it's just that I don't read/understand Deutsch but am fluent in Alien.

I strongly recommend everyone that purchases the game to give a thought about the collectors guide. As a guide collector I know whats gona increase in value and since a long time now Future press releases extremely well documented and glossy guides. Remember Bayonetta's Collector Guide???...just fetched around 100 pounds on eBay...sealed obviously. And they mostly produce really limited editions. If you're not opening because of the regional coding, although far from official, I contacted producer, David Anfossi, via twitter and he said all versions are region free.

@Mike1888 Yeah, for some reason Play Art figures aren't exactly the best looking out there. I have all the FFXIII figures for the characters, up close they're not anything special. Although the Summons big figures are pretty hot! ;)

I'm not sure if I'll bother with the comics as I'm not a comic collector, but I did get one of the novels 'Icarus Effect' and have another one on preorder.

No idea what's in the Press Kit though, but it does have a DVD in it and possibly some art book?!? [that's all I know of it]

I'm just hoping, I prefer those coffee table sized art books as Deus Ex HR has so much beautiful art work by just watching the trailers. You can see how much detail there is (for PC visuals) and you can tell how much concept art they would have drawn for it as well....I'll put that on my wish list :)

Oh, I actually pre-ordered the graphic novel coming out in October. If I find the comic for sale on eBay in a bundle (6 comics) I might get it depending on the price?!?

I have the novel Icarus Effect.
Basically an adventure book set in the DX:HR universe about two people from opposite sides of the world seeking answers that'll endanger them and must try to uncover conspiracies surrounding some corporation. I have started reading yet, but should make a very good reading.

Good work on the graphic novel, I chose to order from the UK amazon because Australia gets free shipping for books and dvd/bd for orders above 25 pounds :)

I ordered mine through Gamestation (waiting for the sound of shock and horror) the ONLY reason I did it was because I traded some out PS2 games in and I am picking up the Augmented Edition for £15 because of the value on my trade-in card.

The collectors edition does look good but I agree it is just a figure and the Augmented Edition in a box with a number on it which isnt really all that.... Im trying not to buy crazy shaped boxes anyway I need a more uniform shelf lol

Regular Edition is P2200 or $51 when converted.

Thanks, I've only just started the game and I saw them at the beginning. I'd better check on whether those other two figurines have been released on eBay yet, I know you could preorder them but wanted to wait for them to release....then get it locally it I might get it cheaper.

I received my CE about an hour ago, and it was much smaller than I had imagined.

I was also disappointed to learn that it was limited to 20,000, which I assume is per console. Why could they not tell us this information beforehand I do not know! It's hardly a secret now, and now people know how many there are I am sure there will be many returns whilst they wait for the price to drop! Expect this to be £50 within the next 3 weeks...

If they do then it may be worth contacting whichever store you bought it from in order to negotiate a partial refund, as many stores have a 21 / 30 day returns policy, so if they reduce the price in that time period then you could use that as leverage and state that you could quite easily return and reorder, but a partial refund would be less hassle and more efficient

By the way, I ordered mine from GAME and received an additional comic book by DC Comics.

I might return mine as well.

Just played the game and until the first boss fight it was good, when I faced the boss it was just another Alpha Protocol. Boss can take 9 sniper rifle head shots before dying and he is over powered (I was playing on normal). Took me about 40 deaths to beat him since I had no combat improvements, I got totally frustrated!

Didn't like it very much.

If you use stungun combine with shotgun you should have no problem.
Topple with typhoon this boss will get shredded to pieces with in 30 second.
I have no upgrade on combat too.
But man! I love this game so much
Totally suck me into their world.
I'm clocking in 20 hours now still go around reading e-mail and hacking stuff

That's what I feel about Alpha Protocol put too much hype but disappoint me greatly, still can't bring myself to finish that game.
For DXHR, Boss battle is not the high point of the game I agree on that.
