The uber edition following BioWare's forums is an ultra limited edition they were thinking of releasing, yet to be confirmed. They were thinking of adding a replica of the Normandy, among other exclusive items.

The comparison was to MW2 prestige edition... pointing out the cool functional night vision goggles. That leads me to think that the 'uber' part of the name is for the price and not necessarily the quantity available.

I've pre-ordered this edition at GAME just in case no other edition is announced. I also believe that this CE is exclusive to the GAME group here in the UK, as I haven't spotted it on any of the other retailer's sites

btw, as it seems, this will be a GAME/gamestation exclusive in the UK.

I contacted shopto.net about getting this item, they said something in the line of: "we will not be able to have this item in stock".

also, if you go on masseffect.bioware.com and change the country (upper right corner) to the UK, only Origin (for digital copy) and GAME show up. No amazon, best buy, HMV, etc.

Looks like the PC version of the CE has dropped back down to £59.99 at GAME.

I've preordered in store and online for this. When ME2 came out, my local GAME stores didn't have enough CE to fulfill preorders and it was on a first come first served basis. I missed out and ended up paying over the odds for it on ebay after release... >.< Won't be making that mistake again.

Cant wait for this. Annoyingly I never finished ME1 and sold my xbox on and lost my saved game. When playing ME2 with random decisions it sucked as it didnt feel like my story. Cant wait for the third though. I should think about finishing the DLC for ME2 before the third :)

I was lucky late last year to pre-order on top of the Xbox/PS3 N7 version from game a PS3 copy from Gamestop & with you guys help able to order 1 from Amazon & another on to play/use from Gamestop.

Game like HMV should sell of Gamestation (like HMV's Waterstones) now not leave it for months, it's not going to get better for them.
I know the guys at the Reading sites & would not like anything bad to happen to most of them, they are good guys who have put me in the right direction for a bargain most of the times i am in there.

Thanks for the early unboxing! Seems like EA official CEs are including Star Metalpaks recently as seen from SWTOR and now ME3. Even Dragon Age Origins had only 1 run of real steelbooks then switched to Metalpaks. In fact, I can't think of any official EA CE coming with steelbooks in the last couple of years? This will be an important point for me the next time EA announces a metal case :protest:

Btw the RRP for the CE over here is SGD 100 which is around GBP 50. It's Asia version but all contents are the same and for some preorders we also get a free replica normandy.

I was doing a shopping search on Google and they came up as having the N7 edition for Xbox in stock.

I placed my order via paypal and when i went to do a search on the site afterwards it was no longer listed.

I then saw on their Twitter feed that they only had 1 copy of xbox in stock, but the tweet was 8 hours old at that point. So I'm not sure if the 1 copy they mentioned in the twitter feed was the one i got but I've got nothing to lose i guees. Worst case I'll get a refund if i dont get one.

One will be NTSC and one will be PAL - the NTSC copy may not play on your console if you've gotten it for Xbox, but if it's PS3 then it'll be fine :)

I was expecting this CE to fall down in price massively in the months following its release, due to the large quantities, in a way similar to the Gears of War 3 CE.

They were planning to have a super special uber edition with an amazing Normandy model (bigger, better and more limited than the Normandy model we all know and love) but for some reason, the idea was scrapped.

The CE we have though, is quite nice. I thought the steel case would be pretty bad (I thought they took a page from the Dark Souls CE book when it was first announced) but it's amazing. The patch, not so much... The artbook is nice though and the lithographic print is actually quite good and not just some postcard disguised as a lithograph. I would have preferred a physical copy of the OST but hey, with music like that of Mass Effect, I'm not complaining.

I just collected my PS3 CE and the replica normandy. The metalpak and artbook are pretty sweet. The other stuff is pretty much junk. And this one didn't even come shrink wrapped. They just put a tape to hold the stuff in place. WTF EA!
