Who Here Collects SteelBooks?

So I dabble in SteelBook DVD/BluRay collecting... and i thought it be nice if we carved out a section here on the forum to discuss this.

So who here also collects SteelBook DVDs or Blu-Ray?

I'm starting to like them more and more, and it seems some are getting more rare than some CE's.

Yes i collect them and love them even *modding my own homefront* using the RESIST pc case with the ps3 normal homefront to make a HOMEFRONT steelbook for myself as love the case itself :)

I have a few Blu-ray steelbooks and some DVD ones as well. The most recent being Paul. Akira is next on the list. Not sure which one my favourite is though, possible Halo Legends or Scott Pilgrim. I'm hoping they will release X-Men First Class and Green Lantern steelbooks.

Well, with nearly 250 SteelBooks, I would most definitely call myself a SteelBook collector / addict! I have a 90% complete UK Dvd collection, all except four UK Blu-Ray SteelBooks, and a couple of dozen gaming SteelBooks - Most of the latter come as standard as part of huge videogame CE's such as Black Ops Prestige Edition and Gears Of War 2 etc

Some SteelBooks are actually quite rare and sought after. For example, the SteelBook edition of The Human Centipede is limited to only a few thousand and exclusively available only directly from their website. Many other SteelBooks are a retailer exclusive, such as PLAY.com or HMV, and the same applies for many videogame SteelBooks too

The only SteelBooks I don't really collect are PC releases. I'm not much of a PC gamer, but I do have the Red Alert 3 SteelBook.

I love collecting Steelbook Blurays ^_^
I don't have that many and unfortunately I missed out on the Final Fantasy Advent Children Complete from the two Asian countries that released it :(

By the way, do we have a thread on Bluray Movie Collector's Edition which would be very similar to the likes of collecting CE for games?? They have some absolutely awesome CE/LE for really great movies as well.

Ive just gotten into it very recently.

My favourite steelbooks are Brink (love its blue colour, its quite striking), mortal kombat and the Yakuza 4 Kuro/Shiro editions.

I think i only have a couple of blu-ray steelbooks such as sweeney todd, i am a fan of them but i haven't even purchased a regular blu-ray in a long time, was looking at getting the avatar one which looks so nice

I never realised there were that many for the X360, although I suppose a majority of them are disguised within bigger CE's rather than being a straight-up SteelBook (Eg, Crysis 2: Nano Edition)

Saying that, I reckon I must have a good 40-50 myself - I haven't really counted recently :think:

i have only real Release steelbooks, not something like the Spanish Steelbooks or the COD/Battlefield Steelbooks!

The most are normal releases. in the bigger CEs i have 10 or 12 Games.


The USA get extremely low games with Steelbooks, but in the US get much more Rare Steelbooks!

Steelbook never been my cup of tea.
If it come as a part of collection, I'll have it
If it just bare-bone steel book I'll just wait for the lower price.

It have a great deal of catalog of steelbook release on both game and Movie produce by this company (Glud & Marstrand A/S) still missing a lot of content but good place to start your check list

I believe those aren't technically steelbooks, but some new form of metallic packaging.

OH. I thought for sure they were steelbooks because they had the Fast 5 steelbook listed yesterday but I see now its gone.

I think the technical term for them now is ironpacks

BTW if i was to make a thread for disney/FS steelbooks would someone be able to help me get those here in the UK. I have recently started collecting steelbooks and going over the top

Actually, Ironpacks is also another brand, and Disney isn't using them anymore too haha.
