The Lord of the Rings: War in the North - European collector's Edition announced

Warner Bros. announced at their press conference on July 14 another Collector's Edition for the game The Lord of the Rings: War in the north. The Collector's Edition will be available for PC, PS3 & Xbox 360.

Due out in fall 2011 for a RRP of ? 89.99 - the Collector's Edition includes the following:


The game in a Steelbook case

Exclusive snowtroll figure

War in the North art book featuring concept art of key characters in the game, various enemies and beautiful environments in Middle-earth

Inside Look: The Music of War in the North

Interviews and footage of legendary composer Inon Zur at Abbey Road Studios

The E3 2011 Concert event, along with three tracks from the game soundtrack

Another great Edition I really can't afford, I like the steel book but the contents of the USA version is slight superior in my opinion.

Tough decision really especially given that it's an EA game where pretty much every edition has been over produced.

I would expect this one Steelbook version to be the preferred choice, simple because it has a steelbook.

I think I prefer this edition as well. I much rather a figurine related to the game.

Plus, judging from the pic of the US CE, it looks as though you can't do much with. I don't think you can take the arrows out, you could probably stash the game/art book in the bag compartment and only really just have it displayed/hanged on a wall....which would also be cool.

I'll preorder this when available to.

Mmmhh...I must say I fancy that one much more to the quiver CE...this figure will just look perfect on a shelf in my daughters room between the Justin Bieber Poster and her build the bear doll...

OMG, thanks mate, been anticipating this as it's the version I'd like to get. It's relatively cheap in price, hopefully it's not cheap in quality though!? :s

I'll check out how much EU/UK prices it for before I even think of preordering it from EB, although they do have an exclusive DLC pack ;)

JB only has the standard copy on their site at the moment, GAME has nothing just yet.

They'd be better off delaying it until after the new year in that case. The beginning of November and end of March are the two hotspots which ALWAYS have big blockbuster games released, and should be avoided by everything else.

But then I suppose anyone who is likely to buy this kind of game is most probably a PC gamer into MMORPG's rather than first person shooters anyway. Unless somebody thought they seriously had a chance of outselling the likes of Battlefield 3 and MW3...

French and Spain get the steel book inside. The UK have a steel book edition for £39.99 at GAME UK.

I think AUS get the steel book as a pre-order bonus, not sure yet.

I find that a bit odd, I could understand it if it's from a different region...but now they're segregating the PAL regions?? :S

The Australian edition will get the Steelbook in the CE, I don't think it's a 'bonus' case though as far as I know. We'll be getting it this Thursday, I didn't even know it got another week delay until I tried to pick up my copy last Thursday! LOL :D

Yet another CE farce if you ask me. Why is it that some publishers & retailers manage to promote CE's very well, whereas others don't seem to give a flying fig? Zavvi and Amazon being two of the latter...

Yes Amazon UK release stock but for those who ordered an PS3 version got sent a Xbox 360 version instead. Have to send back to get the correct version.

Also it seems GAME UK have it in stock also, last minute thing together with their steelbook edition.

JB HiFi emailed me on Nov. 30 that my pc copy is backordered for a few weeks. They told a friend that his PS3 one was ready to ship but have not updated his order status from "in progress".:???:
