Wow. You know how long I've been waiting for them to announce something for Arkham city!? Jesus. Finally! This looks very nice, however, I'm getting rather bored of the standard "collectible figurine" concept. It seems 90% of CE games now come with some type of statue or figurine. They're nice don't get me wrong, I just wish they'd come up with something "unique". I thought they were considering a Utility Belt replica? Now THAT would've been to die for!

You must be the only one then. I think most collectors complain if the CE includes a bog standard Amaray game case, as it ruins the effect of the CE. I am glad that they aren't including a retail game case, and I wish more CE's would follow suit.

The Bioshock 2 CE wasn't as good as it could have been, and if they had've included the game disc inside an artwork book then it would have looked far nicer

In my opinion, game discs and soundtrack CD's should be hidden, and not contained in obvious Dvd / CD cases

Strongly disagree, I really hate it when the disc is inside a speicalist case. For example, the Arkam Asylum disc came in a special case, and it was really annoying.

I uch prefer the collectors edition to contian the game inside a normal case disc, but to hide the disc case within the collectors edition. The best game to do this was halo reach.

From what I remember the official statue was packaged with MW2 in the UK in very limited quantity. I would have got the statue itself if they permitted it to be shipped to me, sadly no.:suicide:

Ok Gurps, thanks I needed this...so disappointed with the Bartarang...so just to be sure, some say it will be hard plastic and some say it might be resin based. Can you by any chance confirm the one it will be and lets say compare it to some other statue/figure already out there?

Hey thanks! It's difficult finding information about guides, as I've had first hand experience. Guides don't seem to be important to retailers or publishers when they make these Collector edition games (but as you know, they're important to us collectors!)

Well that sucks for PC users. I have to admit though, as a general rule, PC collector editions don't sell nearly as well as console versions do. This may be a smart business decision on the part of WB to try and save production cost. As a collector, everytime I've ever searched around to buy a Collector edition of a particular cross-platform game, I always find an overabundance of PC versions available, generally well into the future (so not selling well), and find it quite difficult to track down console versions (especially those for Xbox 360 which seem to always be the rarest of the 3 platforms for any kind of collector or special edition game).

True but the contents are exactly the same, so all they would need to do is put a PC DVD game case and alter the box art slightly.

It's only a rumor that no collectors edition will be available, so I am hoping it will be. The first one got a Collectors Edition and was a very popular game on the PC and there would be a lot of people wanting to purchase it as part of there collection.

1/6 would mean 12-inch standing, but since it is crouching probably make it 9 more or less. and add the base to the height as well since it's elevated.

It really sets it apart from all the others...I thought the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Collector's Edition was beautifully done. Having the disc inside an artbook (as the case) made it very unique.

I have the veteran edition of MW2 and the statue is amazing. I am a huge Batman fan I am not so sure about the mouth and face expression of this statue. Plus it looks way smaller than Captain Price statue. But that is a plus when you consider the fact that I don't have much space.

This'll sting to some who collectors who believe that CE content is for CE content, but what can we do?

BestBuy.com has a listing for Batman: Arkham City - The Album Original Soundtrack.
The CD is on their website with a release date of 10/4/11. BestBuy have listed this item at £11.99.
The soundtrack was previously only available with the Arkham City Collector's Edition (below).

According to record label Watertower Music, however, it appears there will be two CD releases.
One will be "The Album", featuring music by contemporary artisits and the other, "The Original Score" will feature music from the game.

um, from personal experienced. If you reserved a collector's guide at Gamestop they pretty well at meeting the demand. I've got DNF & AC Brotherhood CE guides there. Yes you're right. But if you walk in the store and pre-order it i think they can meet it no problem. Priced usually around $32-34 U.S. dollars. There's a discount in it if you buy the game and the guide together.

I've pre-ordered the CE, plus UK SteelBooks featuring Joker, Penguin, and Two-Face. Hoping that is it for UK releases, although in a way I kinda wished there was a way to get the full set of SteelBooks without having to import or buy the game countless times

So together, Batman: Arkham City is costing me a good £240! Not what I need inbetween Gears Of War 3 costing me £370, and Modern Warfare 3 most likely going to cost me a good £350 at least...

My friend betted me that all my games, etc are worth around £15,000 (including consoles, etc) and I laughed at him, then he was like right watch this. And added up the price of my things, and after only adding up one small bookcase (filled only with standard editions and a few steelbooks) and a bunch of CE's that were on the floor he had reached about £5,000. I was like holy shit. I told him to stop counting the rest before I depress myself :haha: Totally hadn't realised how much myself and my boyfriend had spent so far on collecting! :/

@everyone: Can anyone tell me if there was EVER a collectors, limited or special guide released (in US, UK or elsewhere in the world) for the first Batman: Arkham Asylum? I figured I'd ask here because all the batman fan/collectors are alredy watching this thread...

All I know regarding guide(s) for the first batman game (Arkham Asylum) is that there was the standard guide and a "special cover variant" of the standard guide released EXCLUSIVE for GameStop (and only in-store I believe).

Does anybody know where i can buy the gamestop limited cover and catwoman cover for the colectors edition guide?The gamestop "exclusive" limited edition cover (of the standard guide) is available on gamestop website in US www.gamestop.com (http://www.gamestop.com) As you live in the Netherlands, I don't know if there is GameStop related company (or EB Games) in your area (either online or store). If there is an EB Games available to you they may have it also as EBG and GS are the same company. As for the Catwoman version of the Collector's guide, I think it's "luck of the draw". They will be distributing the collector guides random with either of the two covers (batman or catwoman). If I'm wrong, anyone please correct me...

So, i'm going to buy the collector's edition, but now i have the change to buy all the steelbooks. Should i do it? Because it is a lot of money, but i am an arkham asylum/city collector. It wil cost about 200 euro's for all 4. What do you guys think?

If you're a collector, but not to the extent of being a completist, just go for the Collector's Edition. You'll get the images for the Steelbook covers in the artbook anyway. If you still have some more to spare after, a few Steelbooks wouldn't hurt either.

I'm actually happy that there's no standard game case. Unless it was a DigiPak or Steelbook, having one would take away some of the prestige and exclusivity of owning the collector's edition.

I though they designed the package in the same manner Ubisoft did with the Driver San Francisco Collector Pack but from the looks of it in this vid, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akgEBT-sYsk) the whole box just disintegrates once you get rid of the shrink wrap. Don't know if you could put it back all together. If you can't, then it's a dealbreaker for me. Shame, having it proudly displayed on my would be awesome especially because of how the statue was presented. Noir Batman, perched on top of a building like how those gargoyle statues do, looking wizard under the city lights of Gotham.

I have the opportunity to get a copy of Batman Arkham Asylum signed by David Hego, artistic director of Rocksteady Studio... But, it tooks me a couple of hour waiting for it and I am not a Batman collector...
So, is there some interests for some of you ? (I may try to have two copies...) If yes, I will consider to spend this time to obtain one or two copies....
