Many CE's include posters as standard these days. Some larger than others. But what's your preference?

Do you prefer larger posters which come folded? Or smaller posters which come rolled?

In an ideal world we would all choose to have the huge posters rolled in a separate cardboard tube, but that doesn't suit the nature of many video game CE's - Only as separate pre-order bonuses

Obviously, larger posters are typically included folded in order to keep the size of the CE down to a minimum, yet the benefit of these is the fact that you can get some pretty tasty posters, albeit at the expense of having several folds across them.

Smaller posters can be either rolled or folded, but I have noticed that there is an increasing trend to include rolled posters as an incentive now. The benefits of these are that there's no folds to mess up the artwork, but at the expence of being restrictive in size

Which do you prefer, and why?

I prefer mine rolled as the creases on the folded ones ruin it for me it you want to frame them or just laminate them for display.

What are the typical dimensions for the sizes of S, M & L??

I'm afraid I don't know the exact sizes used in the industry, but I personally consider:

A4 = Extra small
A4x2 = Small (standard poster size)
A4x4 = Medium
A4x8 = Large
Anything bigger than that = XL, XXL, billboard. Lol. ;)

For example, I believe the Dead Island: Treasure Edition poster is A4x8 size (don't quote me!), whereas standard posters you'd usually receive as pre-order incentives are typically A4x4 size. The latter is also the generic size for rolled posters you'd buy from a poster display rack in a store like HMV

Cinema posters typically tend to be the XL or maybe XXL size on my scale above. Anything larger than that would be the size of a house!

I prefer rolled, so as the poster doesn't have those awful creases, only problem with rolled posters is, when you try and unroll them just to look at the try and roll back up again, leaving you pretty frustrated, but folded posters you can just unfold and bam, you can see the full poster. And as you said, folded ones can be bigger as a large rolled one wouldn't fit in most CE's...

So advantages and disadvantages to both, but overall I prefer large rolled ones (and small rolled ones) that come in tubes xx

Biosohock 2 was the perfect way for CE to have posters. Rolled, in a protective sleeve and a slot for them in the collectors edition. Noone else has done anywhere near as good a job

Definitely rolled. Ugly creases can't be taken out of posters, while having one rolled can have the curve taken out by laying it flat.

Posters - The larger the better and always rolled.

Posters must be rolled up. I can't stand folds!
If it is a map then it is ok.
