the price is outrageous. I expected it around 60-80GBP; but this is too much.

I won't judge anyone, but this kind of CE is hardly worth 70GBP, let alone 130, IMHO. For example, I'm seeing more value in Mass Effect 3 CE or Deus Ex HR: Augmented Edition, let alone Collector's...

I completely agree with you john, but I've preordered it as a safeguard, if it doesn't go down in price by release, or I'm completely skint (as I am now!), then it'll no doubt be cancelled, but if it proves itself to be popular, then I'd rather have it than risk missing out on a potentially worthwhile edition xx

vhal and russian bear... the choice for me is simple: I don't have 130GBP to spend on a game. Not now, not ever (unless I have a better wage in the future, which I doubt will happen anytime soon). Not to mention customs and taxes for this. #shivers
It's a no buy for me: Don't have the money for it AND I don't see the value in it.
I'm not a "keep it sealed, sell it later" collector, I like to play and enjoy my games (including LE/CE) so any "future value", eg. return on investment is a no option for me.

I doubt I will either, as I will not know until a release date is confirmed. I don't keep games sealed either, I buy them to play, and cherish in my collection, haven't sold a single edition from my collection, bar one that I got a better condition version of and sold the old one on to reap some funds back. As I said, if the price does not go down by release, or I don't have significant funds left to pay for this, I'll cancel it. Until then, I can only hope :haha: xx

Perhaps, but amazon.co.uk and play.com where both removed from the list of UK pre-order retailers for the CE. They might come back since GAME usually doesn't keep quiet if they have an exclusive and slap a big (GAME EXCLUSIVE) onto the end of the game title. Seems only time will tell.

I don't think the standard edition orders from GAME will be getting the code. My friend purchased RIFT standard edition from GAME and never got a code even though it was a pre-purchase bonus (Just like TOR) and when he emailed them they told him they where only giving out codes for the CE. Ill drop GAME an email about it.

Seeing as how this is for an mmorpg based on a huge franchise (Star Wars) I would think they would be mass producing this edition to cater to a wider audience.\

I read somewhere that they are only producing 500,000 keys (standard and CE) for launch to help with server stability etc. I just hope it will be sold out before it comes off pre-order otherwise the price is bound to drop.

Seems to be standard GAME practice of late for their exclusive CE's- stop pre order and then on release or close to start allowing them again. Similar things happened to Crysis 2 nano and Mortal Kombat CE and others that dont come to mind. If this CE will follow the same pattern then this will be available for the first 2 weeks or so after release as well

I think it will & even keep the price unlike say Skyrim CE (only one player) which dropped from £129 down to £89 back up to £129 now down to £69 in only a month.
The appeal of a full online game with the history of the last 2 will keep it high (unless the extras are timed to run out if unused within say a year)?

Not that will not stop me from buying one (to keep sealed) & if ever it did as above with Skyrim come down in price, may pick up a second & you never know try it out?

I received my Collector's Edition 2 days ago, sadly there seems to be a huge production error, a lot of people are missing items, which are mostly the booklets which should be in the DVD case(this contains also the serial key on the manual), and i'm one of them, the collector's edition is quite nice though i didn't expect the statue to be stone, here's a picture:

Newegg, Best Buy, Walmart, Kmart, QVC ($10 more expensive) stocked hundreds of these... Of course the price people have to wait for paying a few dollars less (say $50 at best case scenario ever) is waiting until next year...

In my opinion, as a collector, if you want something (especially a MMO that is so time dependent unlike Skyrim or singleplayer games), it's best to just get it now. In the end you save $50, but it's as if you just pay $1 a day to get it earlier. Besides, it's not like you aren't already paying $14.99 a month anyways for the game for however long you play it...

Titles like this I severely doubt will drop to $79.99 like Killzone 3 from 129.99 (which was also $50 at most and $60 drop at other retailers without tax). I can see Old Republic at $95-$99 at most price-drop wise unless it really remains on shelves THAT long.

Well, here in Spain this edition is really limited. You could get one only preordering it so...if you found one on the shelves of a store, consider yourself a truly lucky guy.

Oh! And I was one of those lucky guys because I got the last one in all Madrid because the ignorance of the seller. He didn´t know what was this "box" so he didn´t put it on the shelves, just stored it. I asked him about this edition and he showed me "something really rare that they received that morning that maybe could be what I was looking for".

But try looking for it in the rest of the country. You won´t have such luck because there are none of them. The only way to get one now is buying it on online shops. Price? "Just" 200 euros :hammer:

I only saw this game available in store at Toysrus. It is weird because it was exclusive to Gamestop in Canada. I guess some of the shipment came from USA and the collector edition was available to preorder from Toysrus.com.

Probably will go the same way as the Skyrim CE. That was 129.99, then they dropped it down to £90 in a sale and it eventually sold out. Kinda sucks how these stupidly overpriced editions don't even seem very limited.
