inFAMOUS Collection~

So I decided to start a new thread because I couldn't edit the title of my old one (seen here: http://collectorsedition.org/forums/showthread.php?t=4758) and obviously I am not a new member anymore. :b

I do collect a few other things, but mostly inFamous stuff.

For anyone not familiar with me, I like inFamous. I also have a website for my collection here: http://infamous.zombaid.net I am also an artist, which is why I have the page dedicated to artist-y items. They're not officially collection material but I enjoy them and want to include them anyway.

The coolest thing (I think) in my collection is the replica Amp (http://infamous.zombaid.net/feature.php#amp) from inFamous 2. Only 20 ever made, and somehow I was lucky enough to end up with one.

The newest thing of interest added to my collection is that shiny box that was used on the inFamous 2 Hero Edition in the PAL region. Check it out here. (http://infamous.zombaid.net/games.php#ece2)

...mine is a little mashed up though. The seller completely failed at packaging it, but i didn't get it at a bad price, when I contacted the seller about it they just told me I could send it back for a refund, but shipping would be on me...and shipping cost was roughly half the cost of the item and I can't afford to replace it so....I guess I'm stuck with it. :I

Anyway I will use this thread to track my collection additions. Mostly inFamous, probably, but some other games here or there as well.

Also if anyone else here has a website for their collection-related site and wants to link-swap with me let me know. My links page is so barren.

No special stories associated with those signed things, unfortunately! I just happened to find auctions for them. :)

Hey, just went through your site, loving all your stuff, you said on the games page that you had heard that the PAL release of the Hero Edition may have come with the Special Edition copy of the game but you weren't sure, just so you know, it did :)

The art is so much nicer on the PAL box in general too. The lenticular cover edition is really really neat though. I think I'm more glad they went with that version instead of the steelbook after all, but maybe its just because I have a thing for artwork. Next time they get a better CE for a game I want I will try to just import the CE straight up, though I guess in this case I did not know about the shiny box until people here started posting photos of theirs.

The only thing I can say about our Hero Edition box is that the cardboard its made out of is a lot thicker than this one. Its just amusing sort of because now I have 3 hero edition boxes in my room...

The seller told me they were pre-order items for Italy Gamestop. There is also going to be one for Uncharted 3...so you Uncharted collectors keep an eye out. I am not sure if its too late to pre-order one w/ the poster or not...

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST....something I am super excited about! I was contacted today by the concept artist for Fallout: New Vegas (and Fallout 2, and Tactics, apparently) and he wants to draw me an artwork for a copy of the nightstalker plush I made. Needless to say, I am really excited about this! I never ever thought anything I made would catch the eye of someone like that! WOW. Well, I need to get to work then. :D

Yea! They're really awesome! :D They turned out to be a bit smaller than I imagined...

I too made an effort contact an artist some months back for Alice Madness game. I got in touch with the artist through LinkedIn. It was amazing! I couldn't believe he actually got back to me. I sought him out to see if I could get him to sign a rare piece of art but found out he lives in China! To ship the lithograph I had it was gonna cost nearly 150$!! And that is just 1 way. Needles to say I coudln't afford it, but what is amazing is the Artist was willing to receive and sign it! I would've had the only copy out of 30 prints to be signed...

I posted the dimensions in the post above yours. :D They're about the size of a regular sheet of paper though. Pretty small, but unique because its metal. :D

That is really awesome too!! For mine, the artist found me and my work himself...so I am really excited he found my work to be awesome enough to do a trade with me, essentially. Especially because I found out he was the concept artist that original drew the nightstalker too...so it's flattering to me that he liked my plush rendition of it enough to want one himself.

What is the artwork you wanted signed? Was it like a contest prize or something? Sounds awesome though...:D

I didn't know anything about either of the skins..that is very interesting! Do you have any pictures of that one? :D I would like to at least have it for my wishlist page and to keep track of what I am looking for. :)

Yea, I've found a lot of that stuff myself already. I've been tempted at some of those promo discs, but there is not much difference between them and the actual retail one... and I am low on funds myself so I need to pick out the most unique items for my collection lately.

And the japanese version is something I /really/ want to get at some point, but i keep putting it at the lower part of my priorities list because it is a general release in Japan, and finding a copy of it at any time later will be a lot easier than say, some limited thing, or a t-shirt or something. all I know is what I've posted here about it. :D i found it on ebay and from the auction description it says it was used to promote the game in the latin america region. I've never seen it outside the one I have... so I am unable to corroborate the story...

its really nice though, feels almost better made than the inFamous 2 CE bag. :)

Thank you! Yes, the amp is actually the most popular thing in my collection... not surprising considering its rarity... but I also am quite fond of the variant cole statues, and I love figurines too! (this is probably why :D)

There was actually a set on sale earlier... ended for $96.

The comics you can get in a trade paperback for a good price, unless you like separate issues too? Well... all of them except for Post Blast, but it doesn't have the entire comic printed in it anyway (for some reason?) you can read post blast online anyway.

Yea, the post blast was the prequel to the first game. The other set (6 issue mini-series) was released as a prequel to inFamous 2. I like the art better in post blast... but the other series is good too.
