Kotaku (http://kotaku.com/5063438/surprise-more-people-pre+ordered-gears-2-than-gears-1) is reporting that someone on the order of 2000 stores with in the US will be hosting "Midnight Mehem" events on the Gears of War 2 launch, November 7th. Those in attendance of such events will receive a code that will give them "an exclusive in-game gold-plated Hammerburst Assault Rifle for use in multiplayer gameplay."
This should make collectors happy as it will go nicely with the code for a gold-plated Lancer Assault Rifle for use in multiplayer gameplay that will be included with the Limited Edition of the game....
