Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Special Edition announced

Capcom North Amercia have announced that Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will receive a Special Edition.

It will contain the following:


Steelbook with exclusive art

Stylized foil sleeve

Umbrella Security Service embroidered patch

Spec Ops Field Unit embroidered patch

Eight bonus in game weapons

Capcom have yet to released promotional pictures of the Special Edition nor any pricing, however they have confirmed the released date of 20th March 2012.

Currently the Special Edition is exclusive to the PS3 and Xbox 360 with the PC version yet to even have a release date.

Capcom also revealed some pre-order details. If you pre-order Operation Raccoon City from GameStop, Amazon or Best Buy, you will receive an additional costume for all six playable characters and two bonus weapons. Each retailer will have its own unique pair of weapons, unfortunately.

As of right now it looks to just be a NTSC. I just hope they don't release something different for everyone else or else I will be having to import one.

I think that's the standard game so the art cards and dlc codes should be in the game case in proper CE.

Still, I think the game most fans would really like is a Resident Evil 2 remake, like what they did with the first game for the GameCube...

But I'm not sure about the DLC, should work I think. The problem will be the additional DLC, you have to buy it in the PSN US Store, otherwise it won't work with your version of the game.

Hi all.
It seems there are a few people on here after this. I have personally managed to order three copies for myself for investment purposes through my US contact.

I have had a word wiith him and he would be happy to place a few more orders if there is enough interest.

Of course the issue is the postage as the the sign is large.

First of all is anyone here seriously interested??
Bear in mind Capcom take the money immediately so item payment will need to be upfront.

If so I might be able to arrange a group buy for the UK and Europe. A ball park figure of £90 including postage and packing will probably be about right. I will check this thread later and decide whether to host a buy or not.

Looks fucking gorgeous! Has anyone been able to confirm if this sign is made of tin like a license place to replicate a real street sign? Or is it plastic or cardboard? I'm really hoping this is tin. It would make it that much more special...

The welcome sign is a replica of the sign that greets guests as they enter Raccoon City. Measuring at 18″ x 10″, this sign is made of metal and looks fairly high quality from what has been shown on the Capcom-Unity blog:

I must have missed the description on the capcom store or it's possible I preordered it so early that information wasn't there yet. The fact it is metal makes it so much more special. I doubt they will be numbered, but capcom has said there will be only 1000 made. That's not a lot...

I have never had a problem with them (8-9 orders)

They pack well, mark low value and gift for customs - delivery is standard like anything else from states/canada - can take up to 2 weeks but usually within 8 days
