Don't know if anybody is aware - I certainly wasn't - that an updated steelbook version of Sniper Ghost warrior has been released today in the UK.

I saw it in GAME today but i can't provide a covershot because GAME themselves don't have one on their website. I assume it's exclusive to them and there aren't any up on ebay yet.

Only spotted a PS3 version but according to Gamestation's website there's a 360 version also . . .and cheaper.

Now that is weird. Tho I wouldn't exactly believe the GAME staff as they may not even know what a steelbook is lol. And there is no bulletproof edition on their website, only a special edition that was supposed to be released on 18/11/11.

Yep, as i recall it had "Bulletproof Edition" in top right hand corner. There were two copies on display but neither were sealed. I can enquire for you, however.

I would also be interested to see if it is a steelbook, GAME have been very lazy this past while with the website, Ratchet and Clank All 4 One Special Edition went without an image for ages and this was released two days ago and still no image.

This was certainly a stealth release though amidst a stream of triple-A releases these last few weeks, so no wonder nobody noticed it

A couple of questions:

Firstly, is this solely for the PS3 (having only been originally released for the console earlier this year), or does an X360 SteelBook also exist?

Secondly, is this a full-price release (with all DLC included, similar to a GOTY Edition)? Or is it a budget release in keeping with the current low selling price of the original standard release?

I have a Gamestation 15 miles from where I live and I would have thought that they might have it because they seem to get everything that GAME do but they know nothing about this Steelbook so it could be just for GAME stores?

Doesn't matter we got confirmation that LE on GAME UK website is the digipak version from Biggav4000

Where did this SteelBook rumour come from in the first place? Clearly GAME have no details on their page for this Special Edition. Do any other retailers have this? Where did the "Bulletproof Edition" come from?


I have also yet to see any actual photo's of any other edition in this thread which differs from the standard original release. All I have seen is a stock pic showing a SteelBook, which we believe was cancelled by Ubisoft

I can get them all and have them on my reciept to take back if need be... but once ive recieved these and brung them back i will want payment quickly as im outlaying 100 or so with nothing paid to me yet.

Yeah, I must admit this is one of the most obscure and confusing steelbooks that I've come across brought about mainly by GAME/Station's vague description on their website.

It was by pure accident that I saw a couple of the "Bulletproof" steelbook PS3 versions lurking in the shelves of one of my local GAME outlets.

The Gamestation website also listed the same Special Edition that GAME have (the one Lemur ordered) because they are pretty much the same in everything they do lol

A) They don't appear to be sealed at all, with some of the ones displayed above clearly having been gutted and displayed on the shelf

B) It's a pain in the arse to order this online as the GAME website gives very little detail as to what it is you're ordering

C) The release of this edition is piss poor, and more could have been done to promote it. Is it a GAME exclusive? Is there any other citation online that these SteelBooks are exclusive to the PS3?

D) If one takes the risk and orders online, then what would one receive? SteelBook or standard copy? Sealed or unsealed?

gemini ... spoke to guy in game... got told ... they do NOT come sealed... ps3 tear strip etc... you would get GAME seal. from what im aware this was meant to be released but something to do with the dlc made it get pulled... possible game was on shelfs before dlc live date. somebody stated online order gets you a normal case not steel :(

The seal on the side looks weird, it's not the standard GAME seal with purple sticker.

If this is indeed a PS3 exclusive and the one on the site is still saying pre-order, I imagine it was cancelled or delayed. like Evil said.

My guess is that it was supposed to go on sale, but they most likely got an internal eMail informing them to pull it off the shelves. If some stores have them and others don't, then that implies that maybe the problematic DLC was removed and they were given the all-clear to sell them. This would also explain why they don't come sealed

I guess they were all supposed to be returned back to GAME HQ, but some store managers kept them or hadn't gotten around to returning them. Someone obviously fucked up and put them out for sale in some stores, or didn't get the memo
