i can see that fatty weighing over 2kg myself, the assassins creed encyclopedia and the art of mgs hd both weighed in at 1.4kg boxed. dont know what its like over there but over here anything we ship abroad which is over 2kg is super expensive, thats our threshold for royal mail, you go 1 gram over then you almost double the price!!! crazy

Yeah, I preordered Splatterhouse from Gamestop US (to get the preorder bonus mask statue) and it was $14.99 shipping, received it and no mask :( You had to then use a code from the package to fill in online to apply for your statue, but it was for US residents only, so sadly, I missed out on it (wouldn't have bought the copy from there had I realised!). That was a standard copy.

Also gotten a few other things of varying sizes for $14.99 shipping but I always have to pay customs charges so I tend not to buy from them now, unless I'm getting a US member to do it for me xx

that blows, I know we don't have VAT/Customs Tax here but it's like Gamestop is charging us to cover that somehow?! :S I've only ever ordered once from them [Uncharted 3 CE], which was far cheaper and easier to do than asking for it to be forwarded by a US member. I try not to order from them either, I much prefer amazon.

I've only successfully ordered from Gamestop.US once before.

Unfortunately you need to go through a checking process for first time orders.
They'll request a copy of your Credit Card [only] statement and fax it to them when you receive an email. I didn't bother with that as I didn't have a credit card.

What I did was I obtained a Digital Gamestop Girft Card [can be order through their online site for faster turn around] via a member from here residing in the US. So all I did was redeem the "gift voucher" upon checkout on my order.

Although it cost me $30+ for shipping, it was deliver by express courier. Their packaging quality was adequate and arrived unharmed.

As for the game releasing in Australia, of course it'll be available here though not yet announced. It should be available at all leading gaming stores, but yeah, a pre-order bonus [the art book in particular] is questionable and we won't know until after the game is officially listed on any gaming online stores.

So if you do pre-order it at Gamestop, just check to see if you're able to cancel your order prior to release in the US, though you'll still have credit to your account that can't be exchanged, only used.

And if the book does come here, then it's a risk you'll have to be will to take and pay a bit more for with our prices. And yes, PS3 will definitely be playable on your PS3 though the DLC [if any] can only be purchase on a US PSN [and that's another story ;) ].

I love the character and landscape art, it is really cool because I am a huge fan of the book series and T.V series. I am happy with it :)

I have a sealed set of the NTSC version and artbook up on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=139973&item=160802435256#ht_903wt_1069). I picked up two, one for myself and one for someone else who wants one! The seal on both is weak cellophane and both have a big tear in the seal. Still, they are together. If anyone wants the set, Happy to go $70USD+shipping for a member here paid by Paypal. Barely any money to be made on this, the set cost me $60+shipping.

I can ship near USPS actual cost for the 2 lb (approx 500g) package to Europe, which would be $19 by First Class Airmail (no insurance, no tracking, at your risk) or $36 Priority (poor tracking, insurance extra) or $48 Express (full tracking and optional full value insurance). If you don't insure it, I will mark it with a value of like $15 to save you on tariffs.
