It will indeed be available, eventually, at select retailers (likely 2013 at the earliest) - but the pre-ordered versions will be distinguishable by the special packaging they will come in, and possibly other ways, according to the 3A forums! (Protect resale value of the pre-order editions at least).

To be clear you need 3AA membership to get the 15% off at bambaland, which you have to pay for and is limited in the amount of people allowed, so not worth it for a one time purchase, only if you buy lots of stuff from them.

And that RAY figure is a total crock of shit, it's just the little one you collected in parts with other Macfarlane MGS2 figures, not worth anywhere near the amount it's selling for.

ouch - that is the only problem with it i guess it is very very nice - really amazing but i just don't know if it justifies the price - similar to the model of the exosuit from District 9 that WETA made awhile back - it was amazing but it worked out at something stupid like £400-500 - it just wasn't worth that in a million years....

But they won't tell you how they'll charge for shipping until closer to release date!!
I have no idea of what estimate they'll have and even when you get to the checkout for an instock item you have to wait a few days for the the shipping fees to be calculated but you actually have to complete the order first :S

"When we are provided with the finalized dimensions we will email the order totals, including the shipping costs, to all customers that have this item on order. This email is usually sent 10-20 business days before the item arrives in our warehouse.

I can advise the cost to ship a comparable item which is similar in size and cost as the item that you inquired about, would be approximately $35.00 - $45.00 US Dollars each - freight only.

Please be advised this estimated cost does not include any customs fees or taxes that may be charged by your government for importing the product."

Thank Matrix :) Yeah I should be able to do it no problem, shipping in September, so since I've paid $49.00 deposit, I've still to pay $440, so say the shipping is $60 so it's an even $500, that's £320 roughly, there's 5 months before September, so even if I save £100 a month, I'll save more than I have to, so I'll plan on £100 a month so that the busier game months (May, since I have the portal gun and three GOW guns and MP3 on order) I can save a bit less :) xx

Yeah the Bambaland pre-order with the pre-order packaging is set for release in August, but they are pretty notorious for pushing back shipping deadlines :)

They said they wanted to differentiate the 24hr pre-orders from any further sales.

Oh my god, this will be my greatest purchase, straight from 3a too.

A little upset I missed out on the recent 3a ambush model from Real steel though.
However I will buy that from sideshow minus the control.

I'm just hoping that rumors of a 3a metal gear ray come true. I will be at the front of the queue.

I doubt it will "sell out" per se as I think it's one of the first lines they will be producing in significant quantities over a longer period of time.

Those are also a bit different from the bambaland pre-orders, as they come without the pre-order packaging and snake pilot.
