The UK didn't, it's a NTSC console

You are right. Europe didnt get this. Not that I know of either. This is the japanese version I believe.

Absolutely right.

I managed to get a near mint 40gb white, at the times i was repairing faulty ps3 drives. I decided to remove the inside and replace with a uk spec version and a 250gb hard drive. Its a beauty and im sure one of a kind. With great condition original box too.

Doesn't seem to be "one of a kind", just difficult to find in the UK. Just Googling "fat white ps3 asia" gives me a lot of listings from selling sites in the Philippines (as well as a lot of hits about fat Asians...).
