Hi Collectors,

Like many others before me, I stumbled onto this forum when searching for pics of rare collectibles. I lurked for a few years and used pics as references when shopping on ebay. But with your approval, I hope to acquaint myself with all of you. I believe there is much I can learn from collectors who have far more experience than I and that this is the place to start.

Due to very limited funds, I can only focus on a few franchises. Assassin's Creed, Fallout, and BioShock. You've probably already noticed that they have varying degrees of historical context which is what appeals to me the most. But I do have a few items from other franchises such as Diablo, StarCraft, and The Elder Scrolls.

I was 6 years old when I started gaming with Super Nintendo and Win 95 (this was during their declining years). At 13, I received my first computer. But it wasn't until I was 19 that I owned my first console, the PS3. The first game I bought was BioShock, which also marked my growing appreciation for video games as an art form rather than just fun. It also sparked my interested in collecting video game memorabilia.

Therefore I think it's fitting that I start off with BioShock...

Welcome!

Bioshock is one of my favorites too. That Murder of Crows is awesome! I've seen a couple on eBay, where did you come by yours? And what version of the record is that, I don't think I've seen that before.

Warm welcome friend!

No way! I'm stunned that you have one of those EXTREMELY limited murder of crows replicas! That's a serious collectible right there. I read it somewhere but forgot - do you know the history of how these crow bottle replicas came to be and where they were originally given out? You certainly deserve a worthy congratulations! I will now envy you forever until I can have one of those (which will be, like, never due to their incredibly rare value)...

:welcome: and enjoy your stay here mate! :) I love Bioshock universe as well! However I have only Bioshock 1 and 2 collector's editions and 2 different Little Sister figurines. Really love this crow bottle! It looks absolutly stunning, I would love to have one. Didn't hear and see anything like this before, but due to comments here I see it's really unique one. Can you tell me more about it? :)

Hello guys! Thanks for the warm welcome and compliments. I posted a new pic which shows the vast majority of my AC collection. There remains a handful of AC items in storage which I'll photograph when I've the chance.

Welcome!
Bioshock is one of my favorites too. That Murder of Crows is awesome! I've seen a couple on eBay, where did you come by yours? And what version of the record is that, I don't think I've seen that before.

I bought the Vigor from eBay from a journalist who writes for a show called "E!". The record is from the BS2 viral campaign called "Something in the Sea". Recorded on the disc is the Rapture anthem, "Rise, Rapture, Rise!" followed by a Little Sister's voice calling out to her father (Mark Meltzer). Basically the whole campaign follows Meltzer as he struggles to discover the location of Rapture to rescue his kidnapped daughter and eventually leads up to awful fate that awaited him after he is reunited with her. You can actually hear his last audio diary in the game.

Hi and welcome. I love bioshock as well and I have been trying to get my hands on that murder of crows bottle.

Good luck, I hope you find one! The cost may rise if the game becomes anywhere near as successful as its predecessors (especially the first one).

Warm welcome friend!

Thank you. I've actually seen quite a lot of these sell on eBay in the past few months. Most of them were sold for upwards to $800, but I've also seen one signed by Ken Levine for over $1000.

I don't know much about the Vigor other than what I'm about to tell you. Even then, I'm not sure how much is fact. But hopefully it helps in the end.

The Vigor was originally created for promotional purposes and included in a press kit when the game was first announced. You've probably already guessed that only journalists were allowed to this press event. However, there were a few leftovers after that and I know they handed out a few more at certain conventions like Gamescom. A few of the remainders were also given to fans during giveaways/parties. I've heard different reports of how many were made, some say there are only 500, others claim that Irrational confirmed the number at 1000.

It's based on an actual in-game Vigor found in the game (similar to Tonics from previous BioShock games). There's some liquid inside that I can't identify without cracking it open. Maybe Irrational already revealed the secret without having anyone to ruin a great collectible? :p The bottle weighs around 2kg and seems to be made out of a thick plastic. The necklace feels like a heavy coin. Carved under the bottle is a number which supposedly serves as an indentification number (out of all the ones that were created). Hope this helps, I've left some more info in my other replies.

There are actually 750. There are the artist proof ones and the ones that were handed out. I actually had a chance to get one autographed by the voice actors but passed on it when the price reached $1,100. They appear every now and then on eBay. But next time I see one I won't pass on it.

Thanks for clearing that up. Do you have a link to where they confirmed the number at 750? Also the first time I heard about the APs, can you tell us the differences between them (if any)?

Robalvarez2010

Artist proofs are the ones that are given out to the ones who made the item and also to the developers of the game. I will find the link of the information on quantity and post it here. There are really no difference, just some come autographed and also numbered. While some don't. The ones that are not signed or numbered are usually the ones that were given out to the creators and developers.

He has the very beautiful and rare "preorder launch kit" for AC3 which came with a wooden box full of empty assassin creed 3 steelbooks. Just to avoid any confusion, the box is made out of cardboard. Also I can't find any numbers, but it is exclusive to Gamestop. :p:)
I've seen this go on ebay really cheap a few times so now's the time to get it if there's cash to spare.

Me too!

Whats the other largish box?

The silver box is the AC1 press kit and the reddish-brown box is the AC2 launch kit from Gamestop.

I tried taking pics of the rest of my collection but the results were poor due to poor lighting. Eventually I'll post the rest of my AC collection, Fallout, and misc. Thanks for looking everyone!!! :):D

Thanks! And good luck on getting a crows of your own. ;)

Also added more pics of my AC collection and Fallout. Sorry if they're too big, I'll resize them later. Seeing my Fallout collection makes me sad because it reminds me of what it could've been. I remember missing the Charisma bobblehead, nuka cola, and dev shirt on eBay for a really good price -$300 - because my internet dropped out at the last moment. :(

I only saw the bobblehead and nuka cola a second time afterwards and they sold for close to a 1000usd and 500 respectively.

I see you got the signed skyrim soundtrack - AWESOME.

I was very impressed with that - I have it too and I was so excited when I got it. :)

Is that a Starcraft figure?!

v1sav1s
05-30-2012, 02:47 AM
The Jeremy Soule sigs used to be a timed preorder incentive but even after the offer was supposed to expire he was still signing them. I think that is a good thing because if he signs all the copies in existence then everyone'll know it's a legit sig! Although I also understand that some people who preordered are upset that some false advertising was involved. ;P Regardless the soundtrack is very pleasent to listen to.

The StarCraft figure is called "noobz Raynor" and was given to attendees at Blizzcon 09. With some luck and patience you can find one pretty cheap on ebay. I currently have my eyes on another blizzcon-exclusive statue: mini Tyrael!!!!

Very impressive collection my man! I am especially impressed with the crouching Altair figure and the Attakus Ezio statue. I need them in my life! I see you also have the Assassin's Creed 2 launch kit. Very nice. I am blessed with a complete kit myself. Anyway, keep it up man.

Edit: I have to comment on that lovely New Vegas lithograph as well. I need that one so badly!

Thanks everyone. It's a great pleasure to meet all of you. Before I joined this place I only saw pics of all these collections but didn't know who they belonged to. I could only aspire that one day I might own rare items like "that person". But now I can put names (and even faces) to these majestic collections. I've learned so much about this hobby from you guys but still have much to experience. And of course there is always something new I need to add to my small collection. :D:)

About the FONV poster: I remember someone selling a few on ebay but don't know if they're sold out when I wasn't looking. What I do remember is when I purchased mine, over a year ago, there were still a few left (I think they were having trouble selling them). I might be able to dig up their ebay ID assuming they left feedback or I still have messages/receipts...

MortalMonday

They only made 400 Murder of Crows bottles. There may be a handful of artist proofs out there as well; but again, 400 is the confirmed edition size. Anyone who tells you otherwise is ill informed. Some are signed, some aren't; but they're all part of the same batch of 400 total bottles.

I don't collect steelbooks but that wooden box is beautiful. Would love to have that kit.

Only issued to GameStop stores. They're not numbered, but you can be sure that they may as well have been. They're not easy to come by, especially in mint/complete condition.

This is because most of these kits were parted out or destroyed. The steelbooks in the case were gifts for staff members. Once each staff member got his stellbook, the faux-wood case would either be given away or trashed. The kits also come with mini flags and a deluxe flag poster. Again, the mini flgas abd poster would either be given away, displayed in-store, or tossed.

I myself am lucky enough to have a complete example. I treasure it greatly.

They had it for sale at the Irrational Store. It's sold out now and completely off the site. When it was there though, it had info on the bottles; including the edition size. It very clearly and explicitly said that there are only 400 bottles in existence. They made sure to explain that the bottles that they had for sale were the few that were left over from the original print run. They must have only had a handful available 'cause they sold out pretty fast despite the hefty price tag.

I'm sorry as I am only able to provide conjecture - my memory is a little fuzzy on this subject - but with some more search we may be able to find something concrete. But, here's what I know: The mask is from the 'Lutwidge Manhunt' (http://bioshock.wikia.com/wiki/The_Lutwidge_Manhunt) event for the "Something in the Sea" campaign. It's made out of a hardened yet lightweight pvc-esque material as opposed to the spongy + heavy material of the masks that were mailed out to fans. It measures about 25.4 cm from side to side and 24.13 cm from the longer antenna tip to the bottom. There were other masks given at the event as the Manhunt took place in a few cities across the world (cat masks are the first that come to mind). I received mine when I was a mod at the 2K Forums and wasn't able to attend the manhunt.

Hope this helps! If I failed to include any other info you wish to know, please don't hesitate to ask again.

Just checked: No, I could not find any 360 branding on the inside or out of the steel. Even the barcode printed on the steel doesn't have "360" combination. :P

If I failed to address your inquiry, please let me know and I'll rectify it.

Thanks for the answer. i love stuff like that, since i cant afford arcadia bottles, or rapture records even having alot of love for 2k and irrational games (since most of my collection in bioshock only), i just cant afford the epic prices..so i take alot of joy on small objects like that, that can be low in collectors value but really unique and interesting in the context that they where made.

I just noticed that the throwing knives on your Attukus Ezio statue are broken. Bummer. This seems like a common problem with that statue though. I bought one a couple of weeks ago and mine had two of the same knives broken. Supposedly, all of the last few that are floating around at French shops are broken too. I returned mine. I'm hoping an undamaged statue will turn up soon. All of the ones currently on eBay are broken too.

lol. It was a good cookie for sure. The one I broke though was already like a year old by the time I broke it. It fell from my shelf on to the floor and shattered. I was pretty bummed 'cause I loved that damn thing. It was sealed in a wrapper too. Oh well. I'm pretty sure I'll never see another one of those ever again. I'm sure most everyone ate theirs. They were handed out by Ubisoft reps. They weren't fan-made or anything like that.

Yeah, I know. I feel like a dumbass 'cause I neglected to take a pic of it. But believe me, they're real. I'm sure someone, somewhere has one still. As odd as it may sound, the cookies are totally licensed promo items. That's, in fact, why I decided to keep one for my collection. It's a round, maybe 3" diameter, hard yellow sugar cookie with hard, white icing. The branding was on the icing. They each came sealed in little plastic baggies. The logo on the cookie was the same as on the post card cover (2 hands shaking.) The people that handed them out even came in a big yellow, similarly branded van, and they were all wearing matching yellow shirts with the same art. It was pretty funny.

@MortalMonday Yeah, so sad. I knew 4 of the daggers were broken before I bought it. But got it for $225 (including shipping from Canada) so I jumped on it. :P

@wty4ka The pamphlet, postcards, and most definitely the shirt go on ebay occasionally. Here's someone selling the postcards: Ebay #230884208595
And pamphlet: 320979889552

The shirt should be easy to find. :)

The Rebuilding Brotherhood campaign is definitely real. I remember finding a vid of the company contracted by Ubisoft explaining the whole process of the feigned riot. The "rioters" would be found, in yellow-themed outfits, shouting and holding protest signs about how the Brotherhood Multiplayer will force gamers to cooperate with and/or apology to each other for their in-game murders. Never had a chance to try out those cookies though. :rotf:

Hey everyone! I couldn't stop thinking about all of you and this magical place. Made a wish that I could come back here and it came true! Glad to finally share a small update with you.

The Witcher 2 Dark Edition artbook is one of the best artbooks I've ever picked up. And for a great price too! I dare say that it even surpasses the Skyrim artbook in some ways. I was tempted to get a special Polish magazine to go with it, but decided to hold off on it.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8060/8249786275_5dc195eb12_b.jpg

Special thanks to Ryaku for the PoP kit and preorder bonus. You're the best!

+1 Charisma! You'll notice the broken "thumbs up" hand. It didn't bother me so I got it from ebay and made a replacement. I didn't have anything to sculpt with but really wanted to give old Vault Boy a hand. hehe But it it sure made me feel like I was scrounging for supplies in the Capital Wasteland and stumbled on a broken, yet salvageable trinket. Don't worry my poor son, Daddy'll come back to you.

This pic was on my computer for weeks and I wanted to delete it. So figured I post it before I do. Looks great, feels great, wear whenever I run in the cold.

Got lots of AC stuff but don't have time to take pics... lighting is also less than ideal cause of the weather. But I bet you're all tired of seeing AC stuff anyway, so it can wait. Thanks for looking and hope you have a safe and fun holiday! :barsong:

You have a truly amazing collection!

Your collection of Assassin's Creed CE's, press kits and lithos is simply incredible :D

I believe that ACR giclee print is the incredibly rare one, right?

I am a huge AC fan but I'm actually an even bigger fan of the Fallout series :)

I grew up playing the originals for PC and still love them

The Press Fallout bobble head is awesome, too bad about the hand though.

Although I saw that auction and you probably did get a good deal on it :thumb:

That pax fallout puppet is also awesome. Is it still sealed in plastic?

Again great great collection buddy :notworthy:

Your words are too generous. But thank you.

The ACR giclee is pretty rare, but not as rare as some people might think. For one instance there's a variant, with an edition size of 500, that was only given to Ubisoft Devs. It's also printed on giclee, shares the same vibrant colors as the UW edition, but is smaller (8x11'').

The Fallout games have engrossed me as well. Though, it wasn't till FO3 that I had my chance to blow up mutants and raiders. It's a truly immersive experience and I've already invested thousands of hours into FO3 alone. I didn't really mind the bobblehead missing a hand, because eventually I'll have the means to sculpt a new one for him. :thumb: The price was acceptable, but I've seen mint ones go for less. The puppet isn't completely sealed as there are a few holes that were punched through the bag (maybe it was manufacturer's intention).

Let me know if you need to know anything else. Thanks so much for looking! Happy Holidays!

Hi everyone, it's been a while. Wish I could stay here longer... :sorry::hug:

A little extra:
Since I don't know any of you as well as I should, there isn't any way of convincing you that this isn't a trick. But... let me post a quote from V for Vendetta:

I hope that the world turns and that things get better. But what I hope most of all is that you understand what I mean when I tell you that even though I do not know you, and even though I may never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you, or kiss you. I love you. With all my heart, I love you. -Valerie

Thank you for your patience.

Just a quick update... Hopefully I can post more asap... but dusk is approaching and my phone is incompetent! :hammer:

@Deathhoud Thank you. Your collection nearly sent me reeling. :O

@ZeeAussie I appreciate your support. I can say the same about your collection.

@flatout The red thing? That's a record from BS2's Something in the Sea viral campaign. It plays the "Rise, Rapture, Rise!" song and Meltzer's daughter speaks at the end. About half the size of an ordinary record. I've seen one recently on ebay just a few weeks before BSI's launch... supposedly it sold for around $150-200. More will probably come up soon. :)

@SwiftDeath The bust is a lot more detailed, beautiful, and accurate than I imagined. The litho was released sometime during/after AC2, more details at Arludik's website if you wish to purchase (quick details: About $80 shipped worldwide, ~18x24 in, 149 edition size, comes with coa, both are signed, paper is a unique type of giclee but not exactly like the ones from Ubiworkshop, shipped flat in thick cardboard folders, mine arrived with some minor/negligible scuffs on the edges). Always good to hear from you, SwiftDeath.

@jak_1811 Thank you, Bro. The bust is getting easier to obtain ever since the first one sold on ebay, and I'm sure your dedication will serve you well (actually there is one posted in the ebay thread now!).
