There was a sealed big box copy of a Myst game at a thrift store near me. Not positive if it's still there. The box is a little caved in, but it's factory sealed and looks pretty good. It was the Myst Masterpiece Edition IIRC.

Thanks Idiotekque, but I am more into the obscure / rare collectors stuff than the games.

Thanks anyways. :)

Is that mystmuseum.com (http://collectorsedition.org/forums/mystmuseum.com)your own personal site and you own all the merchandise there?! If so, I am both shocked and amazed...never in my wildest dreams did I imagine there was so much to collect for the Myst games. The Myst games have always fascinated me, but the first game caused me so much frustration I gave up trying to beat it. I wanted to do it without a guide and it seemed impossible.

If that is indeed your collection, you must be the greatest Myst collector in the World! I was browsing through the "miscellaneous" section and just in awe at all the vastness of items. If you haven't introduced yourself here, I think you should. You are a most worthy collector who deserves to show off and be recognized.

Thanks,

Yes, www.mystmuseum.com is my website and all that is represented in there, I do own.

I have since 2008, the worlds largest Myst collection Known, that is because the person that had a bigger collection than mine, passed away (good friend of mine).

I also did introduce myself in the Introductions and Show-Off thread. :)

Normally I don't make stupid mistakes like this, cause I always check all the forum sections but I was hasty in replying here before I saw your introduction.

Man, all I can say is just a resounding "wow". There was a time when I considered collecting for Myst as the world and lore really fascinated me, but I lost interest because the games were too hard for my feeble brain to figure out, understand and be able to progress through within a reasonable amount of time. A sad story I know. But then I see someone like you and my interest is revived! You should be extremely proud of what you've accomplished in collecting for Myst.

What do you think about the difficulty of Myst games? Do you believe people should, for the sake of challenge, attempt to play the games without a guide? Do you think using a guide for a puzzle game like Myst makes you less of a person? :P

It happens to everyone to skip threads or miss one or two here and there. ;)

Yes I am extremely proud of my collection. Lots of hrs are put into research because I know that certain things exist and they very rarely show up on eBay.

The first years I started collecting, I spent probably 4 to 6 hrs a day just surfing the net to find new stuff.

I dont beleive that someone can finish the Myst games without having to cheat once. The games are definately hard but once you get the hang of it, its not really difficult.
I did have to refer to the guides here and there and slaped my forhead here and there also saying to miself "f...k I'm stupid" or " why did'nt I think of that"

Depending on certain games you really need strategy guides to solve one puzzle and IF someone tells me that they did'nt need one, well I just tell them "BULL S..iT".
