Available on September 18th in the US (no word on availability elsewhere in the world) this set costs $150 USD, which doesn't seem so bad considering how much is actually included and the supposed limited production.

Indeed it would, we could only do it if everyone paid their own shipping, along with the cost of the game of course. There is no "convenience" fee or anything like that so no worries. We're not looking to make money, we are just happy to help other collectors and hopefully it'll be paid forward and eventually come back to us when we need help getting something. :D

I just checked the shipping on both a medium and large flat rate shipping box to the UK and it will be somewhere between 47 and 60 USD to ship it. I haven't checked for anywhere else yet, but that's just to give a general idea. However, the cost really depends on how heavy the CE is because sometimes its cheaper to ship it in a normal box than it is a flat rate box if its not super heavy. A better price estimate could be made if I could find the specs somewhere.

Hey Wiingsfan,

very kind of you to do this. Any idea what this would cost to ship to Australia?

It's no problem, we're glad to help.

These shipping rates seem to apply to shipping internationally in general (including Australia).
Large Flat Rate box dimensions:
23-11/16" x 11-3/4" x 3"
12" x 12" x 5-1/2"
$60.95 (6-10 business days)

Medium Flat Rate box dimensions:
13-5/8" x 11-7/8" x 3-3/8"
11" x 8-1/2" x 5-1/2"
$47.95 (6-10 business days)

Hopefully the dimensions of the CE will be small enough for one of these boxes. If not, it could be more because we'd have to use a custom box.

xpl0sive

Highly doubt it'll fit in a flat rate box. I'm guessing it will weigh like 6 lbs. The shipping is going to be $50-$60 for something this size.

Yeah, its really lame. The FAQ says this:

When will my credit card be charged?
If you have ordered physical products we don't think you should pay for your order until it is actually on its way. We will not bill you until your product(s), including backordered or preordered items, are actually shipped. If your items are shipped separately you will be billed each time an item is shipped.

I dont understand why it is charging then!

WINGSFANmac
05-24-2012, 03:34 PM
I tried getting in touch with them, but there is NO number listed! Or at least not one thats easy to find!

So i try emailing them about it and every time I try sending it it tells me there is no order on my account, even when I put the order number in!! So because it says there's no order, it will not send the email to customer support!

Real nice Capcom

I went with shipito.com (http://www.shipito.com/). I have heard good things about them, good selection of shipping options and always keep you up-to-date.

Incidentally when preordering at Amazon, I entered the send to address in (CA address), they gave me some alternative address as the system didn't think I entered it right. I stuck with the original as I want to make sure it arrives.

I was a bit wary when I set it up. In fact I'll probably be a bit wary up until I have the item in my hand.

I also did a little research and it seems there are a lot of fake complaints to make the company look bad, this happens on other mail forwarder forums too. I checked on a couple of Aussie forums not related to Shipto and heard nothing but praise, so who do you believe?

At the moment, I'm willing to take the risk. If Amazon or some other retailer decides to offer international shipping I'll probably change my order as it cuts out the middle man.

Sorry, I can't consider myself luckier. In a country with a messed up economy and 3rd world politicians, minimum salary is less than 500 euros, we don't get half the stuff you guys in the UK get, games are far more expensive on release date and they maintain that price for a much longer period. Many games here are opened by distributors to include instructions, translation stickers and an authentication stamp that's an atrocity and hides an additional tax that's even illegal according to the UE rules and nobody does anything about that, so the original cellophane with the playstation/nintendo stripe is removed. One of the main importers in this country is directly connected to the entity that created the stamp, which eliminates all the competition from smaller companies and other importers that could get the games directly from the UK etc for a cheaper price than the retail value.

Jeez, thats horrible!!! I thought such type of 'loot' only happened in here, the whole system has become 1 big proxy mafia

Jeez, thats horrible!!! I thought such type of 'loot' only happened in here, the whole system has become 1 big proxy mafia

I actually made it seem a little worse than it seems, but yes it is quite bad in fact. Nobody know for sure if the guy from the entity called IGAC really is an admin for Ecoplay, one of the main distributors over here. I heard this from a reliable source though.

Microsoft does something even worse. Lately, they open the games and place the stamp not on the box but on the front cover, directly on the paper insert. In Halo Anniversary, they ruined the beautiful slipcase by placing the stamp directly above the slipcase, partially hiding the Masterchief.

So, basically, even when you find yourself a good deal in this country, you always have to live with this drama most of the times. The IGAC Drama.

IGAC means Inspecção Geral das Actividades Culturais. In english, it should be something like Cultural Activities General Inspection if my translation is accurate (CAGI to make it short).

Only a few distributors do a good work. One I recall is Sony itself, lately they have released all games factory seal if I remember. Namco Bandai too.

... so sad I can't do much to make this change and nearly no one listens to me. But most collectors in Portugal have pretty low standards. Even if they don't have much money, they still don't care much. That stamp is mandatorey, regular costumers know they need it for warranty purposes, so people are getting used to buy games with the stamp. It's even illegal to sell games and software without it. Even demo discs in cereal boxes must have that...

If games/CEs come unsealed cause of this reason, then it should be easy for resellers to sell Used games as new, that sucks pretty bad :(

That kind of resellers over here is almost non-existant. They don't bother reselling because most people will pay the same price no matter if it's sealed or not.

It'll be US DLC so (if you're going PS3) you could just create a US account on your machine, redeem the codes on that and then you should be able to play it on your normal accout.

Amazon's postage is pretty good. I bought Skyrim CE off them (also with $16 postage) and being the huge box it is, it arrived in perfect condition. It seems to have come in the same box as how it was sent to Amazon from the supplier, this seems to be the case with a lot of the bigger CE's.

I assume this one will be packed similarly. Also the actual SF game box looks like it'll be reinforced (metal corners, etc) so there shouldn't be anything to worry about. :)

If anyone wants info on production numbers, I found this from the Capcom Unity forums.

Andrew: I realize that Capcom is going to disclose more information about this set, but I felt like posting this to potentially save Capcom some time so that they know which questions people have about the upcoming SF collection. The following are my questions and I'm sure other people will have questions of their own to add.

Where can we pre-order it from? I know the Capcom store already has it up, but I have had bad experiences with Digital River and would rather not have to deal with them.

We are working with the big guys, and they should have their order pages up shortly. In fact, Amazon's order pages are up right now:

Xbox 360
PS3

Because of the quantities, the set won't be available in mom-and-pop stores.

Will the included DLC (for Arcade Edition and SFxT) be unlocked on the disc (ala PS3's Resident Evil 5 Gold DLC) or will the game come with a PSN/XboxLive code to download the unlock key (ala 360's Resident Evil 5 Gold DLC)? The former would be the preferred one.

As was mentioned earlier in the thread, it would be the download keys. If we would have had it be available on-disc, it would have required some re-development, which would have forced us to increase the price.

What costume packs are being referred to for the Arcade Edition's included DLC? All of them (Vanilla, Super, Ultra, Arcade Edition)? That would be great.

Every single costume from every version. (I believe it's 102 total.)

Will SFIITHD and SFIIIOE be reedemable through download codes or will they be on a disc(s)? For the 360 Edition? For the PS3 Edition?

Download codes for both version.

Will the documentary still be on a Bluray disc for the 360 edition? Will it be 1080p?

Yes, so you will require a separate Blu-Ray player. It will be 1080p.

Will the SFIV and SSFIV movies be on Bluray for the 360 edition? For PS3 Edition? Will they be 1080p?

They will be included on the Blu-Ray for both versions. The Ties that Bind (the SFIV movie) will be 1080p, and the SSFIV OVA will be 720p (that is what it was produced in)

Will the Street Fighter Animated Series be on Bluray for the 360 edition? For PS3 edition? Will it be 1080p?

It will be included on the Blu-Ray for both versions, and it will be in standard definition (no HD version exists).

Will the Street Fighter II movie be on Bluray for the 360 edition? For the PS3 edition? Will it be 1080p?

It will be included on the Blu-Ray for both versions, and it will be in standard definition (no HD version exists).

Which Street Fighter II animated series are we getting?

I'm not sure exactly which item you're referring to. The animated series is the USA Network version from 1995-1997. The Street Fighter II Animated Movie is the one animated by Group TAC and released in 1994. If you're thinking of Street Fighter II V, that is not included (legal reasons).

Who is making the Ryu Statue? Any company we should be excited about (like Sideshow or Kotobukiya)?

I suppose that partially depends on who you get excited about, but it is Multiverse, which is made up of some of the best designers at SOTA, who have made a number of our larger statues before. However, I can vouch that the detailing and overall quality of the statue in the collector's set is one of the best I've seen for its size.

Any chance of releasing the track list for the Soundtracks?

Yes, but just to give you a heads-up:

• Street Fighter - Basically, all the music from the arcade game.
• Super Street Fighter II Turbo - All the character themes, character ending themes, and general game themes (from the arcade version).
• Street Fighter Alpha 3 - Essentially the same as the official soundtrack from way back when.
• Street Fighter III Third Strike - The entire original soundtrack, plus the Online Edition soundtrack.
• Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition - Themes for all 39 characters.
• Street Fighter x Tekken - Very similar to the soundtrack included in Japan's SFxTK special edition.
• Fan-created music - Much too varied to list here (we're going to have a special feature about the 40+ contributing artists closer to launch), but it spans a wide variety of styles and genres for both remixes and original works.

What is the edition size of this run? For PS3? For 360? Altogether?

Our numbers are 14,500 for the Xbox 360, and 15,500 for the PS3. So that's 30,000 total. I should note, we're not reprinting this. Once that number is gone, it's gone for good.

What are the Artbook's dimensions? — Jonathan

I'd need to double check for the exact dimensions, but to the best of my memory, it's roughly 7.4 inches wide by 10.5 inches tall. I can be more specific if you need, but rest assured it's not a manual-sized art book.

Will the two OVAs have an english & japanese audio tracks? Will the blu-ray disc also include the animated story trailers like the Sakura, Chun-Li, C. Viper, and Ryu trailers? And if so, will they be in HD res with duel language audio too? — 3DJr.

Andrew: We are looking into ways to get the Japanese audio tracks on without degrading the overall quality of either audio or video, but for the moment, they are English only.

The Blu-Rays will not include the animated story trailers, just full-length videos.

Will this be coming to Europe? There's a lot of people that want this here. — LiamDavison

Andrew: Unfortunately, no. I can assure you that it was not for lack of trying. We spent several months aggressively trying to get it sold in retailers throughout Europe, but at the end of the day, it didn't happen. I can't go into the details, but basically we were told by what I'll call relevant companies that they did not think there would be enough interest in such a non-standard product. Obviously, they've been proven wrong, but unfortunately they can't go back and change it.

For what it's worth, your best bet at the moment is to import via Amazon.

What edit of the animated SF2 movie is being included? Is it going to be completely uncut?— HeeroCobain

Andrew: I kinda know what this basically boils down to, and the answer is, no nipples. Sorry.

So as it turns out, Crapcom wasn't being Crapcom. All the milking, all the ripoffs and all the DLC and locked DLC that were supposed to be base game content already was all for this. Well played, Capcom.

Maybe that's not the case but still, props to Capcom for making something like this. I'm not that much familiar with Multiverse (I would have wanted Koto or Alter to make it), but I hope they make an amazing statue.

One thing's missing though: Van Damme.

It is, but the majority of the DVDs included will not be. Still, I prefer beat'em ups on PS3. I usually play with the controller and the DS3 Dpad is far better than the 360 for beat'em ups IMO. I'm kinda like that too, the only fighter I do on 360 is DoA.. Exclusiveness and all that, I wonder the the 15th anniversary controller will work on it, I need to get a joystick, like the MK one, then I can use it as a money box :D

The 360 version has no DVDs aside from the games themselves. They're most likely repackaged versions of the old products so the locking may be the same. I wouldn't trust 360 games in general. I think Capcom tend to lock their discs though this may be just for Japan and then keep US/EU open to each other.

As for stick vs pad...stick. Less strain, easier to do most things. Just takes a lot of time to get used to/good at. Don't give up!

I don't collect US stuff, but this one is very impressive and a must!

It is worth the full price considering all the stuff it includes. The Ryu statue might not be perfect (we'll be able to tell when we see it in real life) but puts to shame the crappy toys from the regular SF4 CE. You should definitely not miss this if you have the chance.

You can preorder it locally at gamelane.com.au for about $200 posted.

It's about time I get this pre-ordered, I would only cry if I find out it is already sold out.

One questions I haven't seen mentioned. Are the DLC codes going to be compatible with non-US consoles?

Ryu Kazama

DLC is based on the game region code. So it'll be US only (most likely. Region free DLC is rare). So you'll need a US account to redeem the codes. You can make different region accounts on any region PS3/360.

Hey !

Sorry if it has already been posted on the topic... I am lazy about reading all the 17 pages here.
But here's (a quite old) news that I just came accross and that would please PS3 gamers !

Think I might cancel my pre-order for this. The more I think about it, the more I think it's garbage.

I already have all the games in this set (as any SF fan would), already got the animated movies, the TV series included in this one is the terrible American cartoon and not the superior Street Fighter II V series and having HD remix and SF3:3S as DLC vouchers instead of on-disc makes this set worthless, as it'll never be a complete set if you were to sell it, as you would have used the codes (or they would expire). Same applies to the addition of the Alpha games to the ps3 version.

I guess it's alright for those who don't own the games and want to get into Street Fighter, but for true fans of the series I think it's a bit of a let down and doesn't seem fitting of a 25th anniversary collection. I really would have loved to have every SF game released on disc, including the original SF as well as the Alpha series. That would have been an amazing collection.

Saturn

Woah wait a sec, the series included is not SF II V? So what is it then??? Is it those terrible cartoons with team Guile fighting the evil forces of team Bison and a bunch of other nonsensical crap?

lol sorry bro. I kinda felt the same when I found out, and when I found out some of the games were DLC-based. I just think this is a really weak attempt by Capcom at doing a 25th anniversary collection for the fans of the series. When I saw the Final Fantasy collection, I thought to myself, 'that is how you do a 25th anniversary collection!', not the crap Capcom put together. Such a shame.

^ Well to be fair the FF is exclusive to Japan and they don't have any licencing issues when releasing everything whereas this is in the US so there are licencing issues such as with Street Fighter V and Japanese audio on the short OVAs that came with the games recently. Same with animated movies, only English and the one provided is not the directors cut version. Personally have mixed feelings about the FF one.

The DLC is just crapcom being cheap, they said that themselves like with the DLC for Street Fighter x Tekken is a code rather that wasting money fixing disc. With that being said they also said it themselves that they couldn't bring this set to Europe because of cost issues ..... yeah right lazy a$$es =/

I don't really own any of that stuff so although somewhere deep down I feel somewhat gutted about the content/quality of films plus presentation; it still kinda worth it for me since I don't own any of the stuff like movies and games so yeah =p

Saturn

It doesn't matter, even if it didn't bring II V, having this animated series in this edition is something I consider bad. I don't know what you guys think, but I've seen a little of the series in the past and I find it really bad and very... ridiculous :/

Decided to cancel my order. It's a beautiful set and worth the money (if I didn't have to pay shipping costs) but I've got a gut feeling capcom have made more than there is in demand after seeing they're latest money grabbing antics. Even though this is numbered, I'm struggling to see this retaining initial value. I could be wrong. And if I wasn't paying the additional postage costs, I probably wouldn't cancel. But, I dunno man. Just not feeling it...

I just cancelled my pre-order also..demand appears to be soft..it's been available for several months now and no retailer as sold out of their allocation when were just more or less days from release..i see the price coming down some..plus there appears to be plenty to go around..first reports i read it was to be exclusive to 3 retailers in the USA...gamestop, capcom usa store and amazon..now it's up for sale at a dozen different retailers and seems like there's lots and lots being made available..even though it's limited and numbered,..it's probably like 250,000 of them :D

This import tax deposit is in place as Amazon is trying to save us the hassle of the package being with held via customs thus causing delays until you paid them the dreaded import VAT/tax which is I think 20% of the original value.

This only applies to products outside the EU bought from over the net though but there is a certain limit which I can't remember but it's pretty petty. I think it depends on who ships it on Amazon.com, like I don't have import fee deposit on the Avengers Box set but this I do. Although I'm unsure of the real reason behind this, maybe these is shipped from a warehouse within the EU or maybe a different product.

I am going to cancel as well for the time being just because the US is pumping billions into the economy to kick start job creation and stuff every month and making interest rates low as hell (as close to zero I believe) and as a result making the US$ weak. This is a big plus as the dollar to a pound is decreasing which makes importing alot less expensive. It was like 0.64p to 1 USD before, today it's like 0.6176p to a dollar and dropping =D

As an example using a before and after rate, I believe after everything this amounts to 195USD.

Before - ~0.64p to $ = 0.64 * 195 = £124.80
Now - 0.6176p to $ = 0.6176 * 195 = £120.43

Back in the day before the recession, I believe the lowest rate I seen was 0.47p to $, that is like £91.65 for this!

Demand is soft as no one from the fighting game community is buying this. Most street fighter fans would already own the majority of the content in this set, plus having a large portion of the content on DLC vouchers instead of physical disc is a massive fail and will really hurt the resale value of this set.

Unfortunately this is just another classic case of Capcom trying to milk existing products and squeeze more money out of consumers, rather than trying to please it's fans. I think this will be available for quite some time after release.

Well I found an unboxing video. The box is pretty good and the artbook's neat but the statue doesn't have its own box and the soundtrack CDs don't have their own jewel cases. I'm still undecided on whether or not I should cancel my pre-order.

30k editions for 360. So probably 30k for PS3 too.

What do...keep or cancel... I love me some SF but $150 with other stuff coming out, too. Only the box and statue really do it for me.

There one thing that is bothering me, as I don't own any of the games; the packaging for for the 2 games in physical disc form is uber shite. How cheap is that with no manual (list moves!), warnings on inside cover and what an ugly box art, would it kill to just put in the original games that is currently being sold?

The CDs in plastic wallets are pretty crap as well.

Ryu Kazama
09-16-2012, 07:28 PM
Wallets for CDs doesn't surprise me. That was what completely threw me off Toy Story's Toy Box edition. It doesn't cost that much more for the thinner jewel covers.

Move lists are a waste of paper. A complete waste. Everything is in game.

Raven
09-17-2012, 09:53 AM
It's more or less presentation of it although I do admit that once I get a game, the first thing I like to do is look through the manual and crapcom does do pretty neat and somewhat thorough manuals not like a few pages kind of thing. Considering this is a CE and they downgraded it to a inferior is something I hate and just to save money where they can is just no.

As I said this is a CE so everything should be top notch or as close to it as possible, printing the warnings about seizures on the inside cover is just lol *facepalm*

Vouchers I don't really mind but somehow kinda feels like a GOTY edition lol, just with added finesse xD

Just got this and it looks and feels really good quality! One of the nicer CE's in my collection. The 'Tien' symbol (heaven pronounced in English) is actually embossed on the outside slip box. There is a 25th Anniversary symbol on the side which is also embossed. Really quality! Reminds me of Blizzards editions.

I have decided against getting it as well. Primarily because , in my opinion the contents do not justify the cost. Specifically, I have these issues:

1. The Soundtrack CDs cannot be displayed well in the plastic sleeves.
2. Much of the content is in DLC form, so no physical items (to collect.)
3. The Artbook contains fan art and does not cover the chronology of the series.
4. There is very little information on the quality of the statue.
5. The Heaven on the Box makes no sense

I have recently received the collector's edition of Guild Wars 2, which is also priced $149 but it is definitely worth it. The statue is monstrous and of very very high quality, there is a huge steel box, hardcover art book, decent enough case for the game, and art prints with a frame included. Street fighter simply fails in comparison.

If the Statue is of good enough quality (high quality china or resin) then perhaps I could think on it but even then the price will be just for the statue.
