Based on the picture it appears to be packaged in a nice metal box, and the game disc may be in a sleeve rather than a DVD case.

So far the only site that has it listed is NCSoft, and pre-orders start on April 10th.

in my country is $150 recomendet price, I dont think it will be lower and sadly, czech eshops use one VERY nasty practice, that dolar=euro 1:1 so $150 in usa is E150 in CR, its little different when conversion to czech krone, its almost E40 different price

No official release date yet, although they have confirmed it is 2012 - but whether that is as early as June or late as December nobody knows :haha:

it's actually funny as the collector's editions are usually the ones there are the most of - the really special rare editions are the ones hardly anyone knows about like the Dead Island Treasure Edition - the ones actually called Collectors Editions are just about the extras you get with them - there not actually rare and i don't think anyone ever says they are - companies do say limited quantities but that could mean anything really - 100k could be limited compared to millions of standard editions...

Been in tears about this all morning.

Originally the page on Zavvi's site said that you would not be charged until dispatch, this was removed prior to it going up on sale, and replaced with "you'll be charged when you order" yada yada yada.

People on facebook posted that after ordering, they received a message stating that they wouldn't be charged until dispatch.

Due to the fact of me having no money to afford the payment right now, I phoned Zavvi to see which statement was correct.

The girl told me that no money would be due up front, you would just pay it all on dispatch.

I went to the bank today and I've been charged the full amount, leaving me no money to pay my bills this month.

I phoned Zavvi this morning to complain (whilst sitting outside the bank, crying :blush:) and they said, "originally we were only to charge a small amount for the sending of the keys, and everything else would be charged on dispatch, but this was causing problems with our system so we just charged the full amount up front for everybody instead"

I moaned at them, since I'd been told NO money would be taken and all they had to say was "well, you've been given wrong information then, sorry"

FUCKING IDIOTS.

So I asked if they could cancel, and return my money to me, and they said no, it's impossible to cancel now since the orders have been processed (and apparently my order is now in their warehouse :S)

Anyway. Long story short. I am fuming. I've run out of tears now, but thankfully my mum loaned me the money to cover my bills.

so what's the guess so far on the US Guild Wars 2 edition posted at gamestops site? Do we think it will go up or drop? I'm probably going to pre order anyways just in case, but it's so weird how the majority of the big box CE's and other ones as well just plummet in price a few months after release, and then one day you think it will be the same for another so you don't buy it and it just skyrocket's. This is why I pick up all new CE's anyways.

Also, I am really pissed about Kingdoms of Amalur CE and how it came. The troll boxes were all in awful condition and I hated the seperate packaging. The fact that I spent $2500 makes me even angrier since no one knew at the time.

I believe the price of these editions will be dependent on the success of the game. After next weekend there will be many reviews and perhaps many more purchases of the collectors edition. I reckon you should check out the reviews next week then make your decision.

This collector's edition doesn't seem to be rare at all, i mean it's still being sold at Zavvi.co.uk and on their page there's being said it's ''Extremely limited''.

I got my Pre-order DVD box and the CE contains great items but i just hope this won't be the same story like Star Wars The Old Republic, where the CE was being reduced within notime to like 50 pounds.

Yeah, it was originally listed saying "We won't charge you until we dispatch this item." but then on the day the pre-purchase opened, they removed it.

Long story.

The prepurchase was delayed in opening, didn't open for orders until around 8.20 am, despite it being listed as opening at 8am - so I phoned up to check before it opened when they'd be charging.

The girl on the phone told me I wouldn't be charged until release date. So, good - I thought, and as soon as the prepurchase went live, I ordered a CE copy.

Few days later, went to the bank and broke down in tears because the money had been taken from my account (money that was actually in my account to pay for my Sky bill the next day).

My mum gave me the money as a loan, I paid it in, and called up Zavvi.

The girl I spoke to this time informed me that originally, only a small part of the payment was to be taken now, and the rest upon release date, but this was causing errors in their system, so they just decided to take the full payment now. I told her that I had been told I wouldn't be charged until release and she kept saying, yes that's what the plan was originally, a small fee now, and the rest on release.

Getting a bit flustered haha, I started crying and telling her that, no, I'd been told that NO money would be taken up front, and all she could say to me was that she was sorry I'd been given wrong information.

I asked if she could cancel my order, so that I'd still have the money in my account to pay my bills, and she said no, it's impossible to cancel after the money is taken as the order had already been processed and my prepurchase box (with the download keys etc) had already been sorted out in the warehouse for me.

I've been informed now though that you can get a refund (on release) if you return the CE and the prepurchase box (with the codes) UNOPENED, to them. But only if they are unopened. But obviously, release could be God knows when away...

But, yeah. Oh well. Life goes on...
