From the unboxings I saw, there's a signed "certificate" that says "Limited Edition of 1.000 copies". I guess this is for each region.

Edit: correction, limited to 1.000 worldwide.

No we are talking...I actually pre ordered it way back in mid year last year when it was cancelled...but than i received an email around August 2011 from Amazon that the release was scheduled for mid year 2012...and than again re scheduled for October...I think there is an issue with the original retailer since it is already an existing book and some rare lucky people have a copy already...the reason why it was cancelled is still something I wish i knew. The only doubt I have at the moment is if it is a first edition or if they re published a new one...any update on that would be great

"The book (actually books) in question were not published. If I remember correctly, it was discovered that the editor of the project did not provide the correct information to Diamond (our primary comics shop and bookstore distributor) regarding the set. The information most stores received was that it was a single volume for $130. Order for that particular "product" were so low we could not afford to print.

I believe it is being reworked so that it can be offered again. Again, I'll track down the current status of the book and let you know what I find out."

That was the reason for the delay and I remember amazon listing it again (correctly) but with softcover artbooks.

This book was already cancelled before. I had it booked since 2011 late in the year.
I presume that due to that I was given some kind of priority...

As for the fact that I am selling my copy, trust me i thought about it over again and again as it could be of even higher value in the future if i kept it. But I took this decision (those who are married with kids may understand) because my Christmas plans became under fire...so I had to get cash quickly.

Anyway I am deeply sorry to hear that most of you were unlucky to get your copy...

Yay! This was tweeted a few months ago. There will definitely be no "box" edition, it'll only be these mass produced slipcased edition so that EVERYONE can have a copy to cherish the art works ^_^

That is a pretty good prize in my book. If I would have the cash I would grab it right away. Don't think it will last long before someone buys it anyway.

As an FYI, I am not sure about some rumors I have heard regarding the release of an alternative limited slip case for the The Sky ? as a kind of "Sorry we messed up your order..." version including a limited signed lithograph by Amano...I will figure out the source is reliable as i got this from a shop assistant in Forbidden planet here in Dublin last time i went shopping there.

I am aware of that one, but I have reasons to believe they will have a limited run of something additional included like a litho or something signed. As i said i got the information from Forbidden Planet here in Dublin.

Maybe it is all just story telling but who knows maybe someone else has heard something similar. The release date is still a few month away.

I bought the slipcase edition. Got it about a week or so ago. Really a beautiful package I must say. The slipcase is made from some type of cloth and opens via a portruding label. The 3 books inside are really well done. For the money it is excellent value imo.

I won the LE version back in June, paid out the ass for it, first time ever too since I loathe scalpers. And in 11 years of my ebay experience, this was the first time I was scammed. Went through hell getting my money back through ebay even when I had all the proof in the world.

In the end I spent over four hours on the phone with ebay though finally got my money back.
